[Tonight, Dazai is really drunk.

This is not different from most other nights in their favorite bar, save for a few things.

1. Ango isn't here.

2. Dazai is really drunk. The kind of drunk that has Odasaku concerned that he might be trying to die through liver failure. That drunk.

And so, it's with hesitation that he speaks up.]

Maybe you should stop drinking for tonight.

I'm sorry.....

[Flopping into bed now.]

[tenimuho]

It's alright. I'll look for it for you.

[Of course he checks Dazai's coat pockets first, like any reasonable person would.]

[ninjou]

[Dazai manages to get his tie off, too, and curls up on top of the blankets, face buried in the pillows.]

You're so handsome today...

[tenimuho]

[No, Dazai's delirious and talking to pillows.]

Here's your phone. [He sets it by Dazai's head.] You should call in before you pass out.

[ninjou]

[He looks up and takes the phone, flopping onto his back and selecting a contact.

He sounds perfectly fine as he discusses a few things and lets them know he'll be out for a couple of days... then hangs up and drops the phone on the bed.]

[tenimuho]

If I hadn't seen you fall on my floor, I'd think you were faking sick.

[That is some impressive not-sounding-sick ability.]

[ninjou]

I'm a very good actor.

[And now he sounds like death again.]

...water?

[tenimuho]

[He sure is. Odasaku fetches him a full bottle of water from his fridge, and returns.]

Anything else?

[ninjou]

[Dazai, confirmed dramatist.]

Water is good... I don't feel like eating or anything.

[tenimuho]

You can nap for now. I'll make you soup when you wake up, even if you still don't feel like eating.

[It's good for you.]

[ninjou]

Are you going to leave?

[All smiles, though he still looks dead to the world. Give this man pills.]

[tenimuho]

No. I'll just be in the living room, so call for me if you need anything.

[Watching a sleeping person is boring and creepy.]

[ninjou]

I'll miss you.

[Curling up... water is cuddled.]

[tenimuho]

I won't be far away. You'll see me soon.

[He's not going to cuddle with you, you sick person.]

[ninjou]

Byebye......

[He rolls over, snuggling the water bottle, not even bothering to get under the sheets.]

I'm naming my water Odasaku and it will stay with me.

[tenimuho]

I'm flattered. You should at least get underneath the covers.

[That can't be comfy.]

[ninjou]

I'm fine. I'll get too hot. I want to die....

[Worst. Patient.]

[tenimuho]

How is that any different from usual?

[Sighing, Odasaku returns to try to tuck Dazai in.]

[ninjou]

[He appreciates the attempt, and he'll behave to get under the covers despite being clothed.

A sigh.]

I'm glad you're here. I don't want to leave you ever, so I guess I can't die... it's a little annoying but I'll manage it.

[tenimuho]

Dazai...

[That's strangely touching, even coming from the mouth of someone sick and delirious.]

I won't go far from you. You'll be alright, and I'll be there when you wake up. Is that okay?

[ninjou]

[A tiny smile, and he burrows down into the blankets and pillows.]

Yeah. Everybody else would laugh at me. Just don't leave without telling me.

[tenimuho]

I won't.

[He's not that kind of cruel.]

Sweet dreams.

[ninjou]

Mmmf.

[He looks like he's going to cry, and he paws at his bandages on his face before giving up on taking them off. He couldn't sleep from being sick, he's tired from acting fine, but he trusts Odasaku not to leave him alone.]

[tenimuho]

[Odasaku decides not to watch TV - too far, too loud. He grabs a book from the shelf and settles down on a chair.

He'll be here, attuned to Dazai's distress.]

[ninjou]

[Dazai manages dead sleep for a while, but eventually he has trouble breathing and tosses and turns between little bouts of snoring. At one point he starts awake and groans horribly, then he curls into a ball to sleep again.

It's a couple of hours later than he wakes up and peeks out of the bed.]
