[Tonight, Dazai is really drunk.

This is not different from most other nights in their favorite bar, save for a few things.

1. Ango isn't here.

2. Dazai is really drunk. The kind of drunk that has Odasaku concerned that he might be trying to die through liver failure. That drunk.

And so, it's with hesitation that he speaks up.]

Maybe you should stop drinking for tonight.

[Dazai manages dead sleep for a while, but eventually he has trouble breathing and tosses and turns between little bouts of snoring. At one point he starts awake and groans horribly, then he curls into a ball to sleep again.

It's a couple of hours later than he wakes up and peeks out of the bed.]

Hnnf?

[tenimuho]

[When Dazai actually awakens, Odasaku sets his bookmark in the book he was reading.]

Good morning.

[It's not morning.]

How are you feeling?

[ninjou]

Not good.

[He looks bleary and closes his eyes again.]

Did you stay the whole time?

[tenimuho]

[That's what he thought.]

The whole time.

[ninjou]

Thanks...

[He finally pokes his head out properly, hair a sweaty mess, nose slightly red.]

You didn't have to.

[tenimuho]

After you asked me to stay so many times, it'd be cruel just to leave.

[Also he was really cute about it.]

[ninjou]

[NOT CUTE.

Sleepy still though. He tries to get his eyes to adjust now that the bandages have come loose.]

You're the best man I know.

[tenimuho]

If I argue against that, will you shove me in front of a mirror again?

[He doesn't want that to happen ever in his life.]

[ninjou]

Too sick to do that.

[A soft smile.]

I'll do it from here. You just sat in a room with me while I slept because I badgered you. You're always thinking of others. You have the softest touch...

[tenimuho]

Please stop.

[Dazai will embarrass him, and that's just ridiculous when he's bedridden.]

[ninjou]

I can't. You're too good.

[He'll sit up now.]

[tenimuho]

I still haven't gotten revenge on you for last time.

[Maybe he shouldn't be sitting up? Odasaku hovers near his bed.]

[ninjou]

[Definitely should not. He wants the water though.]

Are you going to tell me how handsome I am?

[tenimuho]

At the opportune moment.

[He can have his water back.]

[ninjou]

[He'll take a shaky drink and smile as he fails and drips some on his shirt.]

Ahhh... I think any time is an opportune moment for me to talk about you.

[tenimuho]

Apparently.

[Why is Dazai like this.]

I'm not a talker, so I have to make mine count.

[ninjou]

I know you aren't. This is why we work. I pick up your slack.

[tenimuho]

Mm. One day I really will have revenge on you. But not now, you'd forget.

[ninjou]

Do it anyway? Just a little.

[He wants to be kissed and held and made better but that's the worst idea. Let him have the soft caress of Odasaku's words.]

[tenimuho]

[Odasaku sighs heavily.]

...Your hair. It's so soft. What do you do to it that makes me want to run my hands through it all day? When you stand close to me it's hard to resist.

Your eyes are beautiful - both of them. The shade of your eyes is my favorite color. When you're honestly happy they seem to get more light in them somehow, and they sparkle.

You talk about wanting to kiss me, but your lips keep distracting me. Even when I should be doing something else or telling you to get to work, I want to kiss them just one more time.

And your ears - I don't want anyone else to know how much you shiver when I whisper into them. ...Oh, that's not part of being handsome, I guess.

[ninjou]

[He basically shivers and smiles and offers a small laugh as his cheeks flush for a variety of reasons.]

You... are miraculous. Incredible, and I really just...

[He sighs.]

[tenimuho]

I wasn't done, Dazai.

[Seeing Dazai blush, though, that's a reward to start with.]

[ninjou]

Oh.

[NOW he's blushing.]

[tenimuho]

You have beautiful hands. They're smaller than mine, softer, and better for so much more delicate work. I like holding them. I could do that all day, just that.

I think you're the perfect height. If you were shorter it'd be hard to kiss you, but if you were taller we'd bump noses. And when I hug you it feels like you fit naturally there.

You're handsome, Dazai. You'll never convince me that you're not.

[ninjou]

Careful...

[He drinks more water and glances away.]

If you say things like that to just anybody, people will fall in love with you too easily.
