Dec. 14th, 2017 03:26 pm[Very few people get this dressed up for a bar crawl. It looks like it'd be hell to wash, and the only reason you'd wear it out to the bar is an obsession with fashion.
So that's one clue about who this patron sitting at a table is, since he forgot to tell other-Dazai how to identify himself. As for him, when he sees Dazai come in with bandages visible on his arms, he makes an (incorrect) assumption that this is the injury that caused that text and thus this is Dazai.
Well, he's half right, at least.]
Dazai!

Jun. 7th, 2017 12:51 pmJust by the nature of No Longer Human, Dazai should enjoy a certain level of immunity to everyone else's shenanigans. Can't be driven insane by Q, or dragged into a book by Poe. Can't be healed by Yosano, which is annoying when he could really use it, but on the other hand, there's something to be said for not giving Yosano an excuse to cut him up.
But Lovecraft's already proven that Dazai isn't completely immune, even in his own world. There are stranger things than abilities out there.
And waking up on the doorstep of the National Library instead of in Dazai's bed would certainly qualify as 'strange'.
There's a sign that says it's the National Library, and it looks like any pictures of the National Library Dazai might have seen. Dazai gets about a minute to puzzle over what the hell happened before someone steps outside, and freezes.
"...Dazai?"
Finding someone he hadn't expected to see ever again on his literal doorstep is enough for Chuuya to drop the insulting nickname. It'll come back later, don't worry.

Feb. 19th, 2017 07:12 pm[Of course, Odasaku is the person with the thickest Osaka-ben in the National Library. Miyoshi's from Osaka too, but his accent isn't nearly as pronounced. And they don't talk all that often, anyway, since Miyoshi seems like he dislikes him for some reason.
Odasaku loves his home more than anyone, and one of the things he misses about it is hearing the dialect. It's the way he talks, and though he's more than used to hearing Toyko-ben or other dialects by now, it reminds him that he's far from his home. Which, he is, but even hearing it from someone who wasn't Osakan would be nice...
Dazai probably feels the same way, yeah?
So Odasaku does a little studying. The internet's a useful tool when it comes to picking up things like this in secret - you don't have to ask for a specific book, you can delete your search history, it's perfect. He'd be out of luck trying to do this back when they were alive, or at least doing it without raising suspicion.
After a couple of months, he doesn't think he's fluent yet, but he can at least hold a conversation. So, how to surprise Dazai with it? He doesn't want to make a big deal out of it, so in the end, he decides to just say something while they're already in Dazai's room, talking about nothing important.]
Hey, Dazai. Do you miss the countryside?
[His accent's still pretty Osakan - that would take a long, long time to change - but the vocabulary is all Tsugaru-ben.]

Jan. 30th, 2017 07:31 pm[Dazai's been following Akutagawa around a lot. He really does admire him, yeah? Always has.
It's fine to admire someone, but Odasaku isn't sure Dazai understands that Akutagawa isn't going to return his admiration. Akutagawa isn't going to be the one to make him happy. That's Odasaku. It's always been Odasaku.
Luckily, Odasaku is the master of sounding casual and relaxed when he doesn't feel relaxed at all.]
I heard Akutagawa talking about you.

Jan. 21st, 2017 07:47 pm[It had mostly been a joke.
Chuuya had claimed neither of them could write a poem if their lives depended on it. Odasaku had accepted the challenge on behalf of himself and Dazai, and told Chuuya they'd write whatever kind of poem was hardest. Tanizaki had been in the area, and, well... Tanizaki.
So here they are in Odasaku's room, writing erotic poetry.]
Any luck with yours?
[Maybe this wasn't a super great idea.]

Maybe you're a freshman at college. Maybe you need someone to split the cost of renting an apartment. Maybe you're stuck in a creepy 50's-esque town and you've been assigned housing. Whatever the case, you're not living on your own: you have someone you're sharing living space with, whether you like it or not, and whether you like them or not.
Post your characters with name and canon in the header, find other characters to tag, you know the drill. Play the first meeting, or having been established as roommates for a while. Do whatever you want. I don't know your life.
