[Going to Chiyo's school is refreshingly normal. Yonaka had never actually liked school, but she's learning to like it. It's not home, it's not Koriko, so it's fine. The routine is nice.

Go to school, take your classes, leave school, spot someone familiar on school campus as you start to head home-

Wait.]

Mushi?

[That can't possibly be him, but she calls out to him anyway.]

Dialo - she had been Teufel for a long time, but she was properly Dialo and no witch would ever change that - had eventually decided on a wish. To be able to travel between the worlds under her own power. To be able to see the friends she'd made once she left Koriko.

Of course, Selenite was high on that list - the highest. So it was with only some care to her appearance - a long coat with a hood wouldn't fool anyone who actually looked at her and noticed the weird spots the coat bulged, but it would at least get her to Selenite's mansion without being accosted.

And what a mansion it was. The only more ridiculously lavish building Dialo could think of was Koriko's hotel.

"...I hope he's in right now. I should have gotten his phone number."

She rings the doorbell.

[It hadn't been long for Koriko. Three days, at most. And for Yonaka, maybe a couple of hours.

But the Yonaka who returns to Koriko is clearly not the Yonaka who left.

For one thing, Yonaka hasn't always worn that hat. It might be familiar to some and not to others, but even those who don't recognize it as the scalp of a Mogeko will be able to detect the smell of blood.

For another, she's not usually floating an inch off the floor.

And for another, her eyes don't usually have that dead look in them, nor are they quite so red.

She can be found anywhere Yonaka could be found before - her room, cleaning the bathhouse, eating prosciutto - or simply wandering the island in something like a fog.

After all... they still have a debt to pay, don't they? It comes with the body.]

chasescenes

Koriko had, in truth, not been that bad.

Waking up from Koriko to find herself back in Mogeko Castle, that had been bad. Having to fight her way through Mogeko Castle a, what, third time? That had been aggravating. And throwing herself through the portal on the top floor, to find herself in a world of constant war between angels and demons-

Well, at least she already knew somebody there. Sherbet recognized her, and that meant she was sticking close to him for as long as he didn't get sick of her. So far he hadn't dumped her out in the cold (heh).

It's not that she couldn't defend herself... it's just that she wasn't going to be going up against a demon and winning anytime soon, as much as she trained. At least she wasn't sitting around doing nothing.

As harsh of a world as this was, it wasn't the castle, and that counted for something.

Drinker and Aneko's shifts at work end at the same time today, which means that they're walking back to the employee's quarters together. Which means, as far as Drinker's concerned, now's a good a time as any to talk.

"Aneko, have you heard of that newest dessert house to open here?"

It's high quality. She went and checked for herself, because there's no allowing a date with Aneko to have anything but the best in food.
