This is a post for me voicetesting Gin. Hit me up with thread starters for Gin (Port Mafia coworkers? Ran into her in casualwear? Enemy organization where she can't just attack you immediately? Generic jamjar? You're dating Akutagawa Ryuunosuke and have to meet the family??) or give me a character and I'll come up with a thread starter.

Cross-canon is fine as well as canonmates!

[She's just that stoic. Hardly ever makes a sound - this is more than she's talked at once around anyone besides her brother in ages.]

Thank you.

[This arrangement is still super weird, and Gin can't help but remain on edge.]

[garyoutensei]

From now on, I'm basically going to be your shadow. So get used to me being around. At the end of the period, your bosses will ask for my assessment.

-Not her most ideal job, but something about this girl interested her, none the less.- If that's going to be a problem, take it up with them.

[ogin]

[Gin shakes her head - no, it wouldn't be a problem, not worth going to her superiors for. Almost nothing was.

She'd just get used to having another shadow when she was used to being a shadow herself.]

[garyoutensei]

Good. I'm taking you home, then. -... She didn't specify Gin's home or her own.-

[ogin]

...Mine?

[There's a problem with that, in the shape of her brother. Gin doesn't know what his reaction would be to finding a stranger in their home, but the odds on 'violent' are pretty good.]

[garyoutensei]

-Baiken raised an eyebrow. That was the most reaction she'd gotten from the girl since the fight.-

It sounds like that's a problem.

[ogin]

My brother will respond badly.

[Some people worry about their brothers assuming they brought home a date. Gin worries about her brother trying to kill Baiken on sight.]

[garyoutensei]

-An annoyed grunt.- Well it's not as if I can't bring you home, either. I'm supposed to stick with you like glue.

[ogin]

...Hotel?

[That's the first solution she can think of.]

[garyoutensei]

... -Baiken gives a flat, but clearly more finely attuned look, the sort that peered a bit behind the veil, to see if the girl had actually thought through what she suggested, considering the context of the conversation.-

I'm... pretty sure going to a hotel with a strange woman won't pacify your brother any. Pretty sure it'd make things worse.

[ogin]

It wouldn't be invading his space.

[Akutagawa's not an overprotective brother. He's just hostile to almost everyone. Gin knows him too well to think that his attack on Baiken would be for her sake.]

[garyoutensei]

-Ah. That explained it.-

I think I understand your brother, a little bit. Fine, we'll find a place nearby. It won't be fancy, but it will at least have a bed.

[ogin]

[Gin nods, silent as usual. A bed is all she needs - sometimes not even that.]

[garyoutensei]

-And a bed was... pretty much all she'd be getting. A single bed, and little else. The hotel they'd checked into was undoubtedly cheap, seedy. And while the space was clean, one could hear sirens just outside, and the sign cast is glow into the window, so even with the lights off, there was an annoying red brightness to deal with.-

You get the bed, if that's what you want. I'm fine on the floor.

[ogin]

You're higher in rank.

[She's had worse accommodations than the floor of a seedy hotel.]

[garyoutensei]

Just get on the damn bed, girl. -Baiken groaned, finding herself a wall to slump against.-

[ogin]

[Gin just gets on the damn bed. There's no reason to argue with her superiors.

Before bed, she unwraps her face, of course - can't obstruct her breathing in her sleep. And she lets her hair down to be more comfortable. She's actually a beautiful girl.]

...Goodnight.

[garyoutensei]

-It was hard not to notice... She was young, but she'd been blessed with everything a girl that age could probably want, in terms of looks. Without the mask, she didn't look like an assassin at all... no doubt a factor that came in handy, she figured. Even Baiken couldn't help but be slightly spellbound by it...-

Sweet dreams, kid. -Baiken let out a sigh, shaking her head. There was no sense in having her thoughts dwell on something like that. She grabbed a cushion from the chair and settled it beneath her head, against the wall, as she allowed her eye to finally close...-

[ogin]

[Gin didn't sleep for very long - a few hours per night, on average. It was a habit that lingered from her days on the streets, when the concept of a safe place to spend the night was laughable.

However, it had been made clear that she wasn't going anywhere without Baiken. So if she woke up before Baiken did - which would happen if Baiken had anything like a healthy sleep schedule - there wasn't much for her to do but get up and shower. If she didn't wake Baiken by doing that, she'd spend the rest of the time stretching.]

[garyoutensei]

-Gin would find Baiken just where she'd been left, propped against the wall, but waking wasn't a simple rising with the sun for her. She jerked back to the waking world, breathing heavily as she did so, her hand immediately grasping at her face, the right side of it, clenching as her shoulders shook...-

[ogin]

[Well, that's not the ideal way to wake up. Gin hears Baiken's heavy breathing and sticks her head back out of the bathroom, having only wrapped a towel around herself before emerging to see if there was a significant problem.]

Teacher?

[garyoutensei]

-Baiken pulled the patch-eye off of her face, letting it rest on her neck, as she took in several deep breaths, trying to calm down from what seemed to have just been waking from a nightmare.-

I'm fine... And you're wet.

[ogin]

I was showering.

[Getting wet is what happens when you shower.

If Baiken says she's fine, then either she's fine or Gin shouldn't pry any further. Gin finds another towel to wrap her hair in.]

[garyoutensei]

I'm surprised that shower even works... -Baiken's breathing had settled, and eventually she stopped clutching at her own face, leaning back once again as her own hair sort of just cascaded over, loosened when she'd gone to sleep.-

You got school today?

[ogin]

[Gin shakes her head, looking slightly bewildered by the question. No, she doesn't have school today, because she doesn't have school ever. That should be obvious.]
