This is a post for me voicetesting Gin. Hit me up with thread starters for Gin (Port Mafia coworkers? Ran into her in casualwear? Enemy organization where she can't just attack you immediately? Generic jamjar? You're dating Akutagawa Ryuunosuke and have to meet the family??) or give me a character and I'll come up with a thread starter.

Cross-canon is fine as well as canonmates!

[Gin doesn't laugh, but she does puff out something that might have been the start of a chuckle, and then smile.]

I know.

[garyoutensei]

-Her smile was... cute. Subdued, subtle, almost unspoken in its own way. Even if her sardonic response had gotten a mostly positive reaction, she still managed to feel a bit guilty for saying something so dismissively cruel to someone capable of at least that much of a smile.-

... You should have more sake. -That's what she was doing at any rate, taking another gulp from the cask, the same thing happening as before, with a small trail running over her jaw.-

[This time Gin doesn't have to avert her eyes when Baiken drinks, though there's still a hint of pink in her cheeks... or that could be the alcohol starting to get to her as she takes a larger drink from her cup of sake.

Once she's used to it, it's not bad at all. She's starting to like the taste, even.]

[garyoutensei]

... I'm sorry if that was an awkward conversation. I'm not used to being called 'beautiful'... not by someone like you. -Another sip.-

[ogin]

A student?

[Because what else would 'someone like you' mean?]

[garyoutensei]

... Sure. Let's just say that. -It was easier than explaining what she actually meant.-

[ogin]

'Sure, let's go with that' means 'no, not at all', but Gin isn't in a position to question her teacher right now, or do more than raise an eyebrow.

Clearly the only thing she can do is drink more sake, until she starts to feel it hitting her in earnest.]

[garyoutensei]

... But I guess I don't mind it, either. -Because Gin didn't strike her as a flatterer, or some kind of strange pervert into amputees. Sometimes killers were the most honest people in the world...-

[ogin]

[Gin is neither a flatterer, nor a strange pervert, nor someone who wants to get something from Baiken. She just said what she thought.

If killers are honest, then there's no point in asking something like 'really'? Gin's cheeks flush a darker pink.]

...I'm glad it isn't a problem.

[Regardless of her attraction to Baiken, they have missions to complete that require being near each other.]

-... She really was cute, when she blushed.-

[Gin nods. When you get used to the taste, it really isn't bad at all.]

Good sake and good company... are the only things one can really treasure in life... -She took another sip.-

...Art is a treasure.

[Otherwise she'd agree with that.]

-She'd never really been one to appreciate art outside of well made tokkuri, but...-

I dunno if there's any art in this room, but there are some things I find I enjoy looking at...

[Gin tilts her head a little, wearing a quizzical expression. Clearly she expects Baiken to go on, or perhaps show her these beautiful things.]

[garyoutensei]

-That response told Baiken, if nothing else, that she really... wasn't any better at this than Gin was, looking a little flustered that her line fell so flat. That's what she gets for learning flirtation from Anji, of all people, she supposed. Better to stick with what works...-

I'm talking about you. -Such as being blunt.-

[ogin]

[Oh.

Oh!

Gin turns a brighter shade of red, open shock on her features. She works her mouth a bit, but no sounds come out.]

[garyoutensei]

Good sake has a tendency to make folks more honest. I'm no exception. -Another gulp.-

[ogin]

[Good sake makes people more honest, and also more brave or at least more reckless.

Gin slides closer to Baiken. She has no idea what she should say - she's bad enough at talking even when it's about business and not feelings. But seeing if coming closer gets a good or bad or reaction seems like a decent start.]

[garyoutensei]

-It was fine, for the moment. Baiken definitely wanted the moment to rest naturally between them, unburdened by pressure or any feelings deeper than the small infatuations they seemed to develop for one another. This was all it had to be... or it could be more... The ball was in Gin's court.-

realized that gin never actually put clothes on and has been in a towel this whole time

[For the moment, it doesn't have to be anything. With that in mind, Gin leans against Baiken's side. Even this supposedly innocent contact, this warmth, is something Gin rarely has a chance to enjoy.]

-Baiken wordlessly refilled Gin's cup, but rather than taking her own sip from the cask as she had been doing, she set it aside, gently resting her hands over Gin's and lifting up the cup to her own lips, sipping there, sharing from Gin's cup...-

no wonder it's so awkward

[After Baiken drinks, Gin takes a sip herself. She's too old for nonsense like indirect kisses and too young for sharing a cup not to feel like something intimate.

The drink seems more delicious now, or perhaps it's just her perception.]

considering baiken's usual way of dressing, is it really so bad

Drinking sake from the same cup is a way of being intimate with someone, opening your soul a bit to show them what's within... At least that's what the traditions say. I suppose that's why it's usually done at weddings. -Baiken chuckled slightly.-

...Sharing food shows trust.

[It could be poisoned, and they'd easily have a chance to poison their own cup with something they themselves were resistant to. You wouldn't have a chance.]
