This is a post for me voicetesting Gin. Hit me up with thread starters for Gin (Port Mafia coworkers? Ran into her in casualwear? Enemy organization where she can't just attack you immediately? Generic jamjar? You're dating Akutagawa Ryuunosuke and have to meet the family??) or give me a character and I'll come up with a thread starter.

Cross-canon is fine as well as canonmates!

[Gin has seen worse scars. The fact that Baiken can still fight so effectively with such a wound is worth admiration rather than disgust.]

...None of the mafia members have much time for hobbies. Even the youngest ones don't go to school.

Tch, figures. Your superiors weren't really forthcoming with the details...

Alright. Well if I've got you here, tell me a bit more about yourself.

[ogin]

[In the mafia, even seemingly useless information is highly prized. Giving out more information than necessary is a mistake.]

Akutagawa Gin. My older brother, Ryuunosuke, is a mafia executive.

[Not someone anyone would like to make an enemy of, even Baiken.]

I've been a part of the Port Mafia since I was thirteen.

Did you join because of your brother, or where you both recruited around the same time?

[ogin]

We were picked off the streets at the same time.

['Recruited' gives the process more formality than it's due. Dazai wanted Ryuunosuke for his ability, and he was willing to make use of Gin as well.]

[garyoutensei]

-Off the streets...-

Sounds about right. Loyalty is easier to cultivate when you get'em while they're young and hopeless. -How cynical sounding.-

[ogin]

[Gin nods at that. Ryuunosuke is the worse one for obsessive loyalty towards the person who gave him a reason to live, but she knows better than to think she wasn't affected by the circumstances surrounding their entrance to the mafia.]

It's not unusual.

[garyoutensei]

It should be. -Curtly.-

Not that I have any regrets.

[ogin]

I'm not ordered to deal with 'shoulds'.

[Yes, the world should be a better place, but it's not, and Gin's job is not to make it so that children aren't picked off the streets and broken into something the mafia can use. Gin's job is to kill people.]

[garyoutensei]

Do you only do what you're ordered to do? Are you lacking in your own desires or ambitions?

[ogin]

[Gin thinks about it for a few moments... before nodding.

It's not as though she could leave the Mafia and survive. Desiring anything beyond that would only cause her pain.]

Let's think smaller then... Do you have any hobbies?

[ogin]

...Art museums.

[She doesn't go often, but she does enjoy them.]

[garyoutensei]

Specifically museums, or art in general?

[ogin]

Art in general. Calligraphy especially.

[Her brother tries his hand at it, or used to years ago.]

[garyoutensei]

Are you able to create any yourself? -Or was it simply appreciating it as an observer?-

[ogin]

[Gin shakes her head silently. Skill at art takes practice, and practice takes time and devotion she can't dedicate to any hobby.]

Not surprising... a little disappointing, if I'm being honest. Not that I'm an artist, myself.

...Do you have a hobby?

[Some of the executives have time for them. Kajii enjoys opera, of all things.]

[garyoutensei]

Does drinking count as a hobby? -She chuckles, partially.-

... I live a vagabond life, so I don't really have much space to keep things like material collections. But I do enjoy hand-crafted sake bottles.

I think it counts.

[Chuuya might say so, and Chuuya is an executive. Therefore it counts.]

Sports seem unnecessary with lives like ours.

[You already get enough physically activity murdering people.]

How do you figure? Unless you consider this kind of work a game. Which I really hope you don't.

[ogin]

[Gin shakes her head. No, it's not a game. People who treat it like a game are unsettling at best.]

[garyoutensei]

Fair enough, I guess... But people don't play sports just for exercise, you know.

[ogin]

...You know I don't do much for fun.

[Which is more on her than on sports, really.]
