[Gin shook her head.

She drank tea: tea prepared by herself, by her brother, or by a professional in a tea house or restaurant. She would not take tea with someone from another organization - she wouldn't even take tea from someone else within the Port Mafia.

But there was no need to go into all of that when a shake of the head would do.]

[Chloe wasn't going to judge because she didn't drink. She was the sort who walked into an enemy's apartment and happily ate with them, unafraid, though she had a borderline unhealthy level of confidence. Smiling away, though, she decided to avoid yes or no questions. This one looked like she was the sort to nod or shake if she could get away with.]

Nobody told me. What's your specialty? I like to know who I'm working with, after all.

[Good call there. Gin preferred not to speak whenever possible - orders could be acknowledged with a nod, enemies didn't need to be addressed before she killed them.]

Assassination.

[Hah. Well, she'd walked into that one anyway. Chloe wasn't surprised. Gin definitely preferred the shortest answers. She almost put a tease in there, but that could wait.]

Mmm, I had hoped so, but I meant weapons. I favor knives... You wouldn't happen to be a pistols girl, would you?

[Gin shakes her head. Knives as well. Maybe someone thought they'd work well together because of that.]

[Chloe smirked. She propped one of her knees up and wrapped an arm around her leg as she set her chin on top of her knee. The amusement in her face was pretty hard to miss.]

You realize, the more you keep the cool, silent badass look going, the more you're going to make other people curious about you.

[Gin nodded. That wasn't the point - the point was to conceal her gender and her voice. She couldn't do much about having a high-pitched, sweet-sounding voice.

(Except smoke cigarettes, maybe, and she wasn't going to do that when her brother had such terrible lung problems. It wasn't worth it.)

Arousing people's curiosity was an unfortunate side effect.]

[She giggled, her lips pursed in a little smile while she kept looking over at the other girl. Both she and Shaoli were cold natured, but this was entirely different. Gin looked professional and pointedly cold, distant, mysterious. It was much better than the other woman's ego.]

I like it. You remind me a little of a friend of mine. [Thankfully not Shaoli] Though, she smiles a lot more.

[Gin raised an eyebrow. That was as much as an invitation to keep talking about Chloe's friend that she would give. If Chloe would rather end the conversation there, then Gin was completely fine with silence.]

[She barely needed an excuse to talk about Kirika. A raised eyebrow worked just fine.]

Kirika prefers pistols, but she was always deadly. Usually she would never say much, but when we were in a fight together, she would have the deadest, coldest gaze. One target, then the next. It was never personal, just a task to do.

So cold and fierce. She could chill my spine just looking at her.

[Always a professional. Gin acknowledged her respect for the other assassin with a nod.

...Chloe's description of her didn't sound entirely professional, but everyone had their admirers.]

[Chloe was very professional on the job, but oh her personal relationships were anything but professional. There was an obvious bit of hero worship there, and more than a little attraction, regardless of how wise it was.]

Do you usually work alone, or as a team? I am usually alone, though I confess that with her beside me it is a whole different experience. Much harder jobs are possible with a good teammate.

Both.

[For assassination, she's usually on her own. She prefers it that way - more people means more noise.

But she's part of the Black Lizard squad. People she's worked with so often that she has a measure of trust towards all of them. Even Akutagawa's subordinate Higuchi, who frankly shouldn't be in the mafia at all.]

Tell me. What sorts of things would you prefer to know before we work together.

[Other than 'can you actually be quiet for a minute?' She would definitely promise that she could, when she wanted to. Right now, she was free to chit chat and happy to.]

[Gin shrugged. She wasn't the inquisitive type - no one asked about other Port Mafia members' personal lives. She'd see Chloe's skills on the job, rather than asking her her own, possibly biased opinion of them.

So, nothing really.]

[She hopped down and started to walk over to the burners, putting a kettle on to heat up. Looking over her shoulder, she grinned warmly.]

I hope today goes well. I find I don't like too many people in our profession. You're welcome to some of the tea if you want it, but I'm going to brew myself some green.

[She made a little bit of a visible show of putting the tea leaves in their screen into the pot as it rose to temperature, so Gin would know and see they'd both be drinking the same thing if she did. Even if she didn't, Chloe didn't care that deeply. It just seemed the polite thing to offer again since she was brewing.]

[Gin shook her head at that - she wasn't interested in accepting Chloe's hospitality, whether it was poisoned or not.

As for liking people... well, she wasn't the kind to socialize with other assassins to begin with.]

[The water was heating up quickly, and as steam began to escape, she poured a cup for herself and breathed over it, looking across at Gin. Unlike Gin, almost the only people she ever associated with were assassins, soldiers or their handlers. It was a world she was accustomed to, one that she knew far too intimately.]

There will be security, but do you care who claims the final kill?

[It did seem wise to be careful there, in case they needed a message. The soldats were not especially concerned.]

[She shook her head again. As long as the job got done, then it was a success.]

[Setting the empty cup down, she looked over at Gin for a moment before smiling and hopping down.]

Is there anything you want to do before? If not, I think our target should be getting home about now.

(OOC: Though, as I recall, you were planning to avoid combat. So we can wrap up, or do a 'postlude' if you want.)

[No, nothing else before the mission.

The target was eliminated. Chloe got the killing blow, but Gin took out most of the security. She couldn't complain as long as the mission was completed.

At the moment, Gin was cleaning up after herself. A skilled assassin didn't leave evidence behind.]

...Good work.

[That was slightly more difficult to communicate with gestures.]

[When she saw the girl cleaning up, removing knives that had been thrown or lodged, she cocked her head for just a moment before moving back and slipping gloves over her hands. She retrieved each of her knives one by one.

Unlike Gin, she was not as concerned about evidence. If it was known Noir had done this, it sold Soldats' brand in the underworld, and none knew her fingerprints or identity. But, this being a teamup, it seemed best not to make it clear there were two organizations... so she could do the equivalent of casing her brass for once.]

[Thank you, Chloe, for not being a douche about it.]

The street.

[She could definitely adapt. That statement, though, clearly took her by surprise as she pulled the last knife free and cleaned it, eyes scanning for any obvious signs of their identity, or presence.]

I have to admit... I'm more impressed then. The best are usually mentored by masters.

[Gin shook her head.

Her brother, with his Ability he hadn't yet learned to use effectively, had been mentored by a master. She was lucky not to have needed Dazai's tutelage.]
