This is a post for me voicetesting Gin. Hit me up with thread starters for Gin (Port Mafia coworkers? Ran into her in casualwear? Enemy organization where she can't just attack you immediately? Generic jamjar? You're dating Akutagawa Ryuunosuke and have to meet the family??) or give me a character and I'll come up with a thread starter.

Cross-canon is fine as well as canonmates!

I am less than surprised. You do a good job of appearing neutral enough to leave those not careful guessing. The mask is identifiable enough, but you're good at being non-descript.

The shocked reactions get old very quickly.

Not to sing my own praises, but I always knew, from the moment I saw you. But in that, you do remind me of a friend. A little sharper in cut than her, but both of you share that sort of neutrality.

I can only imagine it gets old to be mistaken for a boy.

You're more intelligent than many of my coworkers. There's also that in your favor.

Flattery will get you everywhere.

Hopefully you have at least a few with half a brain though. I'd hate for you to have to work in those kinds of conditions.

I do have intelligent coworkers, but many of them I only work with now and then. My own squad is a mixed bag. The commanders are intelligent, most of the time.

So long as you have people with some sense to work with, there is that. I do hope we will have the chance to work together again, though it might be a while. It is so hard to find good help, after all.

It might be some time before I have a reason to travel back to Europe.

But I would like that.

Perhaps I will find an excuse to come and see you in Asia one of these days? I will make sure to call ahead, though. Never good to surprise someone in our line of work.

My brother would try to skewer you if you appeared in our home unannounced.

[He might well succeed.]

No reason for the me to test his skills unnecessarily. I will promise to phone ahead and make sure the company is welcome, I promise.

Thank you. It'll be much more enjoyable if I don't have to deal with body cleanup when I'm off of work.

I've never been much of a fan of body cleanup, as you might have guessed. Making the mess is always much more fun, so either way, we can have a nice little outing.

I'd rather keep that kind of mess for work.

[No one wants an assassin who kills more than she's meant to.]

Yes, yes. We can keep it to the task at hand. But, I'm allowed to take a certain amount of satisfaction in a job well done, yes?

Of course. Most of my coworkers do.

And what about you? You mention them, but are you different?

[Maybe because she compares herself to her brother, but...]

I take some satisfaction, but I've seen too many of my coworkers become obsessive over it and turn into liabilities that need to be disposed of.

I suppose there's that. Every once in a while I feel that temptation. Important to keep perspective. I knew a woman who was never good at that once.

I'd say it was a pity, but she won't be missed.

It's just one of the realities of our line of work.

I suppose even the need to be careful not to get too entranced by the sight of blood is as much a reality for us as anything, is it not?

[ogin]

We're as human as our coworkers. When we think that we're immune to that issue is when we succumb.

[true_noir]

On the other hand, if we lose confidence in ourselves, we lose our nerve. Another razor's edge, but when was our life ever easy?

[ogin]

If we wanted an easy job, we should have taken office work.

[true_noir]

I would have died of boredom eventually. Wasting away as an unwanted cog in a very large set of wheels.
