This is a post for me voicetesting Gin. Hit me up with thread starters for Gin (Port Mafia coworkers? Ran into her in casualwear? Enemy organization where she can't just attack you immediately? Generic jamjar? You're dating Akutagawa Ryuunosuke and have to meet the family??) or give me a character and I'll come up with a thread starter.

Cross-canon is fine as well as canonmates!

I work better with you than I would with him. Our styles just don't mesh well.

I would imagine he is the sort to work better alone in that case. The unpredictable are like that. There is, however, power in twos.

[That might have been her obsession with the title of "Noir" talking, considering that it was a two-person team always.]

I work well with a squad. But I'm not as likely to go against orders as he is.

Oh, yes. Even if it's not a matter of orders, that sort of person is best to allow to work alone. Anything else is likely to get someone killed that wasn't on the list.

That happens with him. Frequently. I don't know how his assistant has survived.

[Higuchi is... special. But not special to Akutagawa in the way she would like to be.]

Some just have a certain knack. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to handle that kind of soul, after all. What are they like?

Hopelessly devoted to him. Even if he's terrible to her.

I don't know if I'd call it a knack.

Loyalty is a powerful motivator. Something I think both of us know, deep down. Some are just that loyal. I guess if it's done right, it can be a shield to some extent.

[ogin]

If it's done right. If it's done wrong, it makes you a sponge for whatever treatment they decide upon.

He doesn't respect her.

And you do, so you'd like it if he treated her better in this case? I get the feeling you care about her a little bit, along with your brother obviously.

[ogin]

She needs better taste.

[Burning both of them simultaneously.]

I don't dislike her. She's easy to work with.

Perhaps. Sometimes the heart makes foolish choices. I like to think I have excellent taste in partners and women, myself. But I suppose my love for cold, aloof and professional types has its value, does it not?

I don't think I can give an aloof and professional answer.

[She might be cold and not prone to huge displays of emotion, but even she has feelings.]

I think that I could forgive a very slight bit of emotion, once in a while, if you wanted to use it.

If I only get one, then I think I'll use it on you.

[Her heart might have skipped a beat there. Just a little. But she was kind of a sucker for that sort of reaction.]

I would like to give you a chance one of these days, our lives permitting. These things, though, are best in person.

It may be a long time before I see you again. Don't wait up for that.

Don't worry about me. I know that going in. Still, perhaps the chance will come along.

[Hey, she could wait years if she got invested enough. The price of difficult to meet tastes.]

Perhaps. I don't expect to be so lucky, but I would like to meet again.

[true_noir]

As would I. I will speak with my mistress and see if there is reason for our families to have contact again. Keeping a healthy relationship is useful, after all.

If I brought it up with the boss, my motives would be transparent.

[Mori's greatest asset to the mafia is his intelligence.]

It is why I will bring it up with my mistress. I would not hide part of my reasons. She would decide if it is appropriate on its own merits. I am allowed my emotions. She is not concerned about them.

[ogin]

The boss would not approve.

[She doesn't know the story of Oda Sakunosuke and Mori's manipulations to get rid of the dear friend of his chosen executive prodigy, but she knows that Mori does not particularly enourage his subordinates to have feelings. He isn't blatant about discouraging it either, but it's apparent that speaking to Mori about this would be... stupid? Stupid.]

Then we will simply have to wait for a "Legitimate" reason to come along. If there is to be joint work with my people, it would almost certainly involve myself and possibly one other. The knights are for more local work.

If that does happen, I can volunteer to be part of the mission.

[That might not go up all the way to the boss for approval, and if it did he might allow it.]
