[ It had been a strange transfer, from Lunatia to this place. The Hollow Knight was glad of the experiences it had learned there, or this would have been overwhelming. The idea of a 'roommate' alone would have been a cause for consternation. Now, it thought that it might be able to communicate with them.

This one looked human, and with its interaction with various humans and humanoids, it parsed the expression of one of excitement. That was better than fear, and the Hollow Knight tilted its head to one side, and raised a hand to give her a small wave. With the other hand, it tapped its long, thin neck to indicate that it couldn't speak. ]

[They seem familiar enough with humans to understand what a wave signifies, that's more than Evangeline can say with most of the non-humans she's worked with. This is already going great.]

Let me see, I should have... [She roots around in her suit pockets before pulling out a notepad and pen, which she holds out to them.] Will this help?

[ That was very polite of her. The Hollow Knight had got used to the text option on its Lunatian communicator, and it remembered how difficult making its intent known was to people who were used to speaking. It had been extra hard, because making its intent known was difficult in itself, considering all it had been created to do.

It was thrilling to be able to think those thoughts. To be able to think, and know it had not ruined anything. Still a little frightening, but thrilling none the less.

The Hollow Knight took the pen and pad, and wrote a very neat: ]

Hollow - that's a cute nickname. [And not unlike what she and her coworkers would come up with for Abnomalities whose names sounded more like titles or were too long to casually use.]

[ 'Cute' or not, it was what it had been given. The Hollow Knight bowed to her, one hand over its thorax, the other curled at its back. It had learned manners at court, even if it had never been expected to use them.

Besides, it had learned them from Grimm, too, and respecting them was very important to him. ]

[They had had to get a rather large room for Monomon. After all, she herself was very largely, nearing about forty feet. She is glad to see that she will not be occupying this space all by herself. Company is always welcome, and it means that she alone won't be using up such a resource.]

Hello there. [Monomon leaned down so her face was next to the human's then offer one of her smaller tentacles as a means of a 'handshake'.]

[Oh, she's big. Bigger is always better, in her book. Evangeline blushes a little as she shakes Monomon's tentacle.]

I'm Evangeline. Monomon is a pretty name - it suits you.

[ she's not as nonhuman as she might look under other circumstances— precisely because of the roommate thing, she'd made herself a rule early on that "home" was a mandatory thumb-having zone. it's easier to reign in her temper when she's at least partly in the shape she associates with acting meek and agreeable, as opposed to. well. the one where she absolutely refuses to do either of those things, under any circumstances.

that does not, however, mean she's fully shifted. she's kept her ears and tail, as well as most of her natural weaponry— razor-edged teeth, claws, a scattering of pointed scales visible on her arms and neck and jawline. no second set of arms, for the moment, but that's only because they'd get in the way during the napping she'd been doing. ]

[ The idea of sharing a room with someone wasn't something that really bothered him, but more of the thought that his aforementioned roommate might find him intimidating.

Between the large, seven foot long wings, the pointed ears, fangs and hint of talons on top of his six foot height? He sure wasn't all that human, bearing more demon over anything else. Yukie's striking green eyes looked up as his roommate in question spoke up, raising an eyebrow. ]

Lucky, you say? Do I even dare ask why?

[ There's a lilt of a german accent when he spoke, crossing his arms over his chest calmly. ]

It is nice to meet you as well. You can call me Yukie.

[ There's absolutely no hiding his surprise at her comment, though it tapers off into slight amusement as a chuckle escaped his lips. To think he was worried about getting someone who'd find it hard to speak to him and wasn't about to try and call him a freak or anything. ]

Gorgeous? That's a first, but thank you. [ A small smile accompanies his words this time. ] Suppose I can't argue that.

[ His wings shift, having been tucked close to him as otherwise it was hard to go in and out of any rooms. ]

Quite a lovely name. I don't think I've heard one like that in some time.

[She blushes a little, but her smile widens as she's pleased by the compliment. Although-]

Are you comfortable in here? Not too cramped?

[She sees those folded in wings, sir.]

Cramped? Hard to say just yet.

[ A pause and he took a moment to unfurl his wings out a little, light catching along the feathers neatly. ]

I have concerns of if they're going to knock things over if I stretch them out fully, but I wouldn't say i'm uncomfortable.

They're lovely, but I can imagine they get in the way a lot...?

[She's visibly green, with leaf and flower "hair," and while she's wearing clothes on the top half, there isn't much reason to cover the bottom -- it's a mass of roots moving around like dozens of legs to carry her as she enters the room and shuts the door behind her.]

You mean it? I mean, hello! Sorry, it isn't often that an alraune or a witch gets a positive reaction.

I'm not sure about cute, am I? [Wiggles a leaf.] I don't know what it's like where you're from, but they say we don't have feelings. We might not, I haven't finished my research on that yet. And on top of that, we're made by witches, and those aren't always very popular either. That's why I became one, too. But you seem a friendly sort.
