Snow falls gently over the Maryland streets outside their hotel, leaving a coat of white over the landscape. V/V watches from her hotel window for a few minutes, then turns to Kaoru.

"Kaoru! Let's play in the snow!"

Now would be a good time to regret sharing a room with her, or agreeing to this trip at all.

Nepeta's food reserves were running low, and winter was coming soon. It was time to stock up again, and bring in an especially large batch of prey for the season. She could handle it on her own, but it was fun to hunt together in pairs. Spending any time with her friends was fun!

Apparently it could, in fact, rain during the Dark Hour. Ledah and April hadn't known this, and getting caught in a sudden storm of blood was unpleasant.

Taking shelter under a nearby awning, Ledah sighed. "Shall we stay here until the hour ends?"

That is how this evening had begun, Louis lifting his glass in recognition of Aleph's achievement of yet another deed well done. The bartender had been especially thankful and provided Aleph with free drinks throughout the night - Louis, of course, could afford as many as he wanted.

Which turned out to be many. And the night turned out to be a long one. Long enough that even Louis was starting to feel affected.
