Let's see... I've got a copy of The Illusion Tales that's probably about eighty years old.

[Her tastes tend towards more novels than like, arcane spell books, but it is an impressive collection.]

That's pretty impressive. [ He smiles for the first time, at the books of course. ] Most people don't take care of books so well as that.

I've had my hands on some old stuff, but mostly it lasted because it was sealed or guarded by a dragon god or something.

[It's a very cute smile, even if it isn't directed at her.]

I'd love to see the kinds of books that get guarded by dragons, but unfortunately I don't know any dragons myself.

They can be touchy, but they're usually on the right side. At least the ones I've seen.

[ His smile turns a bit nostalgic. He does miss those idiots when they're not off on epic quests, distractions though they are. ]

You know some? Have they always looked humanoid, or have you seen them ever - [she flaps her hands vaguely to try to indicate 'draconic and hot'.]

[ Turns and looks at her incredulously ]

Both, actually. They shape-shift. But they're gods so probably don't go that flappy motion if you meet one.

Oh, sorry. How should I flirt with them then?

[like he's the person to give advice on flirting??]

[ That actually gets him to laugh ]

Gently. They're really strong and easily irritated.

Got it! I'll keep that in mind if I ever meet one.

[ He's not sure what to make of that, it's so different. ]

I don't go out searching for dragons or handsome stone-faced men, but if I happen to bump into one at the bar, I'm not going to waste my chance.

[ Unfortunately no blushing this time. He's trying to figure her deal out. ]

But you like non-humans, or whatever you want to call it. Why?

[ This is a test. Is he being treated like some toy here, because that's a big no. ]

They're sexy? Some people like blondes, or women with big chests, or things like that. I like non-humans. Do people pick what they're attracted to?

Some humans try to get close to those like me in order to get close to power, or to manipulate us.

You don't seem the type, but I'm sure you can understand why I'm careful.

I get it. There's always people out there who try to take advantage of you even if you're human.

-But, you know, if you just said no outright, I'd let that be it and we could talk about books instead or you could just leave. You haven't said that yet.

[ Okay now he's blushing again, and his mouth just works in silence for a long moment. ]

Maybe we could start with an easy one. Can I kiss you, please?

[ he's not curious you're curious also shut up ]

[Perfect. She steps closer to him, lightly rests a hand on his cheek, and leans in without the slightest bit of hesitation or fear.

Her lips are soft, especially compared to his, and she's warm and eager. If his face scratches hers at all, it doesn't deter her even a single bit.]

[ So he's not. Entirely new to kissing since CRAU. And that means, while he's hesitant because he doesn't know this girl, he's not as cold a fish as he might be. He is gentle, because he really doesn't like hurting people with his touch even if she's okay with it. Not escalating or pressing but. Responsive, if shy and unsure. ]

[ His stone skin is warm, person-temperature except stone, and smooth like it's been river-tumbled except for a bit of an edge where the pebbles meet. Just don't get cut by his hair or surprise him into moving suddenly and the chance of injury isn't huge. ]

[Responsive is good, and shy is understandable and cute. She makes a soft pleased sound against his lips, slowly deepening the kiss, alert for the first sign that she's pushed too far.

Frankly she was kind of expecting his lips to be rougher, so this is already better than anticipated.]

[ His hand lifts to rest gently at the back of her head -- just so he can ensure that she's not suddenly going to zig when he zags or something like that, of course. He lets her kiss him more fully, since she's being slow and easy about it and he's... well, he's still a human, one not that far removed from adolescence. And whatever else this girl is, she seems earnest about her interest. ]

[Another pleased noise as she melts into him. She strokes her thumb over his cheek, a gentle touch.

When she speaks, she's still close enough to feel her breath on his skin.]

[She thinks so, but it's good to check in. She'd want to make sure he was enjoying himself even if this wasn't the first time in who knows how long.]
