[Just give him some time to make sure he looks presentable... As presentable as he can, anyway, since his eyes and hair are hopeless right now.]

[Atsushi will be waiting for him, wearing a cute, cream colored turtleneck sweater and black jeans as he relaxes at one of the tables near the coffee corner. His shift is over, luckily, but there’s a pile of plastic wrapped chocolates in front of him, decorated with sprinkles and other various goodies.

He’s also a bit nervous, because this kind of seems like a date...]

[It's not a date, they're just going to eat chocolates together. Chocolates that Atsushi made. Near Valentine's Day. Not at all a date.

Shuji arrives. As always, he's well-dressed. Not as always, his pupils are in the shape of hearts, as is the one lock of hair on his head he can never manage to tame.

He's just not going to acknowledge that, he decides, and gives Atsushi a smile.]

Hi, Atsushi. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long?

[Atsushi’s face immediately lights up when he sees Shuji, and oh, he looks so nice, Atsushi’s cheeks are heating up...]

Shuji-kun! Not at all! Please sit down.

[Atsushi gestures to the chair across from him with a smile, but upon closer inspection he totally notices that Shuji’s eyes and the hair on top of his head are...

U-um...are you wearing contacts, Shuji-kun?

[Shuji takes a seat across from Atsushi, and sighs when Atsushi poses his question.]

No, it's just some unreality thing I can't do anything about. Go on and tell me how stupid it looks, get it out of your system.

Actually...I think they’re kind of cute.

[Atsushi blushes furiously, but his smile never fades.]

Please order a drink on me! There’s coffee, tea, and hot cocoa.

Now Shuji's blushing too. Of course, that's just a platonic kind of cute, but hearing Atsushi, who is objectively The Cutest, say something like that...

It takes him a second to remember to answer the question.]

[Atsushi is already sipping on a latte, and it isn’t long until Shuji’s hot cocoa is set before him.

Atsushi grabs one of the heart-shaped boxes of chocolate and slides it over to Shuji with a shy little smile.]

Um, there’s different flavors and fillings in these...if you wanna try them...

[Shuji opens up the heart-shaped box of chocolates he was just given by Atsushi, platonically.]

Um... there’s raspberry, vanilla cream, salted caramel...

[Atsushi goes on, but his eyes never leave Shuji’s face, and he can’t help but be fascinated by those pupils...]

The raspberry reminded me of your hair.

[Since he's looking so closely at Shuji's face, he won't miss Shuji's blush. Obviously he knows his hair is super red and raspberries are super red, that's not an embarrassing thing or anything, but...]

[Atsushi fidgets a little in his seat. He’s not used to just telling people stuff like this, but he really likes Shuji a lot, and he’s so handsome...]

There’s no food to compare your eyes to, but they’re really pretty.

Besides being delicious, it keeps him from having to say anything and embarrass himself more while he's chewing.]

[Honestly Atsushi has been pondering over his feelings for Shuji lately, and as embarrassing as it is, he thinks he might just have a crush on his friend. At least he thinks so; his heart gets all fluttery whenever Shuji is around, and he catches himself staring at him a lot, and imagining what it might be like to hold his hand...

Yeah. He’s got a crush. Bad.

He’s happy as can be when Shuji eats one of his chocolates.]

I hope it’s good. [A soft laugh.] You probably got all kinds of chocolates from people who admire you...

[Shuji swallows the delicious, delicious chocolate before he answers.]

It's really good. I wish I'd bought my friends chocolate from you this year.

[If he'd had a boyfriend, he might have just bought him chocolate from here anyway, this is so good.]

I don't know about admirers? I got some hersheys kisses and kitkat bars from my friends, sure, but that's not really the same thing.

[He laughs nervously before occupying his mouth with a sip of his latte. How is he supposed to say that he has a crush on Shuji? How do people do that kind of thing without dying of embarrassment??? What if it ruins their friendship??? Ugh...]

[Atsushi tugs on the hem of his shirt.]

That’s surprising...you’re so nice, Shuji-kun...and good looking. Maybe your admirers are just too nervous to give you stuff...

[He smiles through his nerves.]

But you’re also really nice, and kind, and helpful. I always come to you for advice before anyone else.

[And also glad that Atsushi still comes to him to talk, because Shuji isn't willing to be less good-looking, or less fashionable. That's too important to him for his own reasons.]

[Watch him sputter and blush as he tries to hide behind his latte.]

S-Shuji-kun...um...the truth is that I wanted to tell you something today.

[He finally scoots his coffee away to look Shuji in the eye, a gleam of determination in his eyes despite the blush on cheeks.]

These...these aren’t platonic friend chocolates. They’re...romantic ones...

Shuji's face goes bright, bright red, but for a moment his expression doesn't otherwise change.

Then he smiles wide.]
