[Apps you don't remember downloading showing up on your phone and being impossible to get rid of: weird. Drorit hadn't commented on the cryptic post that showed up, because that sounds like a good way to get a thousand more viruses? Probably she'll just ignore it and go about her life.
She's been meaning to check out Leviathan's Claw forever, so now's a good time to get to that. She's always been fond of knicknacks and tchatchkes, this is exactly the kind of thing that would take her mind off weird apps.
...There's a lot of stuff here, and she's not sure where to begin.]
Um, 'scuse me!
[She turns to the employee, not having noticed if his reaction to her face or voice was weird.]
[Considering that Jaeger spent about half of last month holed up at home and didn't set foot outside at all, he's got a lot of work to catch up on. Sure, his employees have handled things brilliantly in his absence, but there are some things the boss himself needs to do. Like rearranging everything! It's mostly something to do to keep his hands busy, because he's not one to sit idly by on a slow day, and today is (unfortunately) a slow day.
He glances up when the door opens and someone enters, and he almost returns to the shelf he's sorting through before something strikes him as odd. There's something very familiar about the girl who just entered; where has he seen her before...
While he's trying to work that out, she greets him, and he smiles easily.]
What can I help you with today?
[It takes a couple of seconds, but it clicks into place quickly. Her hair isn't green and she's not wearing the same (pretty stupid) outfit as she was in her previous life, but he'd recognize her anywhere.
Some part of him always wondered if this would happen, especially after finding Cumore here. Recollé has plenty of people with connected past lives, so it makes sense he'd find someone else he knew. That doesn't change that it's Droite, his past life's daughter (even if their relationship seemed complicated and strange; something he still doesn't fully understand) but seeing her now and having no idea if she's even aware of Retrospec...
Well, he's really not sure what to make of it.
To his credit, Jaeger manages not to say anything and his expression only mildly goes confused for a moment before he corrects it. He doesn't want to try explaining this if she isn't on the app, and if she is... well, that's an entirely different set of problems, isn't it?]
[To his credit, Jaeger doesn't give anything away. All Drorit notes is that he looks a little bit confused for a second, and that could be from anything. She's not in the habit of speculating about retail employees' personal thoughts.]
Is your stuff organized at all?
[...you're doing a great job keeping things arranged, Jaeger.]
[Just play it cool, he can hopefully work out some information about her while she's shopping, at least enough to determine whether or not she's heard of Retrospec. It'll be fine.]
Ja, it is! It's a bit of a work in progress right now, though - if there's anything specific you're looking for, I can point you in the right direction!
[He loves his employees dearly but sometimes you've just gotta go and rearrange your entire store because you're bored. It happens, don't worry about it.]
Ah, that's a piece I picked up back in Germany! It's lovely, isn't it? There were quite a few local craftsmen I was well-acquainted with who were very fond of creating delicate pieces like this!
[He could probably talk your ear off about that, but for the time being he'll stop there. Good eye, though!]
[-cost, she was going to say, except a vision of another place and the shop employee - speaking in a very thick accent - talking to a purple-haired man about a don and a war, while she and a red-haired girl look on fills her vision, and she falls quiet.
[He'd recognize that anyway. The sudden blank look while a memory takes over is fairly common from what he's seen, and it's never a pleasant experience. She seems fine after she snaps back to reality, but...
Well, it doesn't hurt to check, does it?]
...Are you familiar with Retrospec? You might recognize it from a pesky app that refuses to be uninstalled.
[Just as he thought... Whether that's a good thing or not remains to be seen. He wouldn't wish Retrospec on his worst enemy (possibly), so seeing that she has it...]
No, no, it's not. It's... well, it's basically just a social media app! There's nothing particularly special about the app itself, though the company is a different story.
I haven't experienced one recently, but I've had quite a few since that app installed itself on my phone.
[He's quiet for a moment, absently moving to flick his bangs out of his face before continuing.]
Retrospec is capable of doing some very strange things. That vision you just saw is their doing. Only the people who have the app can see things like that, and everyone sees something different. Retrospec has said that those visions are of a past life.
[It's all carefully worded, because it's A Lot and he really doesn't want to overwhelm her.]
It's nice to meet you too! If you have any questions about Retrospec at any point, I'd be happy to answer. I've been dealing with this for quite some time, so I should be able to help you out.
[He shrugs after a moment, though.]
Ah, but don't let that distract you from shopping!
You - and the red-haired girl, did you see her? - were working as my past life's bodyguards. You two were members of his guild, and the people he trusted the most.
[That's not exactly to say that he trusted them a lot or anything, but Yeager was kind of a huge fucking disaster.]
The two of you were also his daughters; he adopted them and continued to fund the orphanage they were from. I don't really know all the details, but their relationship was always a bit odd.
[He doesn't sound bothered about it or anything, but it certainly has troubled him since he first remembered it.]
[There's no non-awkward way to say 'hey I was your dad in a past life', and Drorit supposes that she did ask. She can't really get on him for how weird this all is.]
...My dad teaches preschool.
[It's still pretty weird though!! It'll take her a while to wrap her head around everything.]
[droite is perfect and a good girl and never did anything wrong ever.]
If you're ever interested, I could always tell you more about what I've remembered about your past life. Of course, I don't want to overwhelm you with all of this! As I've said, it's certainly a lot to deal with...

I was just looking for some stuff to decorate my room with - oh, this looks nice!
[Her attention is caught on some glass flowers, and she goes to take a closer inspection.]
Where'd you get this?

It just showed up on my phone. [At the start of the month.] Is it a mass virus?
no subject
No, no, it's not. It's... well, it's basically just a social media app! There's nothing particularly special about the app itself, though the company is a different story.
[...]
Did you experience a strange vision just now?
no subject
[She wouldn't go out and say it, but if he brings it up first it's probably less weird to admit to it.]
You too?

[It's probably fine, or at least not this guy's fault.]
So, um... Mr. Yeager? Is that your name?
no subject
[...i mean it was spelled different in his past life, but it doesn't sound any different, so it's fine, probably.]
What's your name?
[It's absolutely not fair to assume you have the same name, so he'll be polite about it.]
no subject
Drorit.
[Not quite the same, but certainly close.]
Nice to meet you!

[For many reasons, but mostly because look at how that turned out in his past life. Goddamn.]

[Do those go up to sixteen... There's got to be something unethical about using your kids as bodyguards, anyway.]
no subject
I have no plans on repeating any of my past life's mistakes, trust me!

Maybe later. If we get too into it I might forget to buy something!
[Also this is definitely A Lot and she needs processing time, but first: shopping.]
no subject
[It's Fine, it's totally Fine, he can process any feelings he's having about this later, for now it's best just to act normal!!]
no subject
Also she'll buy the glass flowers and a few other tchotchkes and then bid him goodbye. Maybe he'lll never see her again-
hahaha they're going to run into each other all the time.]
