[Chuuya has spent the past month not letting Atsushi read any of his poetry.
This isn't typical for him. He often reads his poetry to Atsushi, asks if it flows well or if the images come across clearly. Even when he doesn't, he doesn't usually shoo Atsushi away if he stumbles upon him writing.
But for the past month, Chuuya hasn't shared any poetry and all, and when Atsushi finds him writing he'll immediately hide his paper before Atsushi can even get a glance and refuses to talk about what it is he's working on.
Tonight, Chuuya seems even more nervous.]
...Hey, Atsushi. Are you busy tonight?

...Hey, Atsushi. Are you busy tonight?

Atsushi is sure that Chuuya will tell him in time. He's still wondering about it, until Chuuya comes over to him. He looks really nervous too. Atsushi gives him his best smile as he shakes his head.]
No, I'm free tonight, where are we going?
no subject
[Fucking light pollution keeping him from having a date under the stars...]
no subject
[Atsushi closes his book and puts it aside before getting up to join Chuuya.]
Ready to go?
[Maybe now he'll figure out why he's been acting that way for a month.]
no subject
So, Atsushi, um... well...
[He's fidgeting with his hands in his lap.]
no subject
Chuuya? Are you okay? Does it have something to do with one of your poems? I saw you writing today, but I didn't look over. You look like you were concentrating really hard on it and I didn't want to disturb you. Or is it something else?
[He's sorry for these questions it's just rare to see Chuuya nervous like this.]

[Now that he's said that much, Chuuya can't back down. Just fucking do it, Chuuya.
He takes in a breath and pulls out from under his hat - an envelope, which he holds out to Atsushi. The envelope has a tiger lily design on the front.]
Can you read it for me?
no subject
[Atsushi takes the envelope, smiling at the tiger lily design before he looks back up at Chuuya.]
Sure, I can.
[He opens up the envelope and pulls out the paper. Oh, it's his poem! Maybe it's the one he's working on! He sits back to read it his expression changing with each word. There's so much emotion in it except this emotion is directed to him. It's enough to nearly take his breath away to know that Chuuya put all of this in a poem for him.
He takes his time reading, his heart melting with each phrase, until he finishes. He turns to Chuuya as he tries to talk around the lump in his throat.]
Chuuya, this is so beautiful. This is about me? Really? This is how you see me?
[It's such a beautiful poem he nearly can't believe that Chuuya thought about him while writing it.]
no subject
It's about you. I've been working on it for a while - I wanted every word to be perfect for when...
[Chuuya swallows around the lump in his throat. Do or die time.]
...When I asked you to marry me.
no subject
Did he hear that correctly?
Wait...the love poem! He wants to marry him!?
Chuuya wants to marry him!
Atsushi feels his eyes prick with tears as he nods. He really hopes his tears doesn't land on the poem, but he can't stop his tears from falling down his cheeks.]
You...w-want...to...m-marry me?
[Atsushi tries to get out in between his sobs. He's happy really it's just so surprising. He never thought this would happen to him.]
no subject
This is real. This is really happening.]
I want to be your husband. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
no subject
It's real!
Atsushi leans back as he wipes his eyes, though his tears are still rolling down his cheeks.]
Y-Yes! Yes! I want to be your husband and spend m-my life with y-you.
[He smiles as he hugs him again.]
I love you Chuuya. I-I'm not a poet so I can't put it into words, but I love you so much.
[He can't believe that it's actually happening. That he's going to be married, that someone wants to marry him, that Chuuya loves him so much that he wants to be his husband! Atsushi had some hope, but he never focused on it because he didn't want to get invested in it then it doesn't happen.
But it's real! It's real!
Atsushi is trying to stop his tears, though it's hard.]
no subject
[Chuuya's not letting go of him. Not while he's crying, maybe not ever. They could just stay here in this moment.]
no subject
How did he get someone so sweet? Who loves him so much?
How did he get a chance to be so happy with someone that he loves so much?
If it wasn't for Chuuya hugging him he would think it's a dream. It feels like one, one he doesn't want to wake up from. Atsushi manages to get out another 'I love you' in between his sobs. He'll calm down soon, but right now he's content leaning against Chuuya with his face pressed against his shoulder.]
no subject
It's so strange for him to be the one supporting someone else. To be steady for someone. But no one has made him want to be a rock so badly as Atsushi.
Atsushi is his rock, and Chuuya will do the same for him. And anything he ever wants.]
no subject
It helps to know that he can cry like this and Chuuya will help him. It nearly makes him tear up again, though not as bad as before.
He pulls back with a smile as he wipes his eyes.]
I-I didn't mean to cry so hard, I'm just so happy. I love you Chuuya and I want to be your husband too! Wait, is this why you wouldn't let me peak over your shoulder when you were writing recently?
no subject
[It wasn't ready yet!]

[Now he feels silly about worrying he did something wrong. Thinking back on it, it's funny to remember Chuuya being all flustered whenever Atsushi came around to see what he was working on. He leans forward to press a kiss on his cheek.]
Thank you! This is the sweetest poem ever! I've never been described in such a nice way before. I never considered my eyes to be a nice color either. They were called weird so I tried not to think about it.
[Honestly, he never thought his eyes would be used in a poem.]
no subject
[Maybe even more so.]
no subject
I really like your eyes too. I like everything about you I'm so happy we're engaged now.
[Atsushi happily squeezes his hand.] We're engaged now!
[He looks back at the poem again before looking over at Chuuya.] You like my hair too? Really?
no subject
[Chuuya's going to use his free hand to play with Atsushi's hair right now, in fact.]
Everything about you is beautiful.
no subject
Thank you, thank you for everything Chuuya. I'm so happy it almost feels like a dream. I never thought I could be this happy.
[He lets go of Chuuya's hand to wrap his arms around his waist and hug him.]
I'm happy that we can have more great times together.
[Still, he can't believe that he's getting married to such a great guy. Him! Take that headmaster! He did find someone to love him that wants to marry him too. Even if it makes his heart race from the thought of it.]

[Chuuya kisses Atsushi's cheek, and then his lips, both soft and sweet.]
