[That's easy enough. Akutagawa looks at Takiji questioningly for a moment, but of course he does it, letting Rashomon seep out of his coat to settle around Takiji on the bed like a too-solid mist.]

Like that?

Like earlier today, is what I meant.

[Rashomon's presence is almost always a comfort, but this isn't what he had in mind.]

Earlier . . . ?

[His brow furrows. When did he use Rashomon today? They've been out most of the day, and he doesn't use it in public unless it's absolutely necessary--]

[Oh. Oh, that's right. There was that silly thing he did that wasn't necessary but felt necessary in the moment, even though he could have just grabbed Takiji's arm.]

I don't understand. Nobody's about to run into you now, we're inside. [Insightful.]

I know. We're safe.

[He always can rely on Akutagawa to keep him safe.]

I don't dislike Rashomon having a hold of me like that. It's a part of you, and I trust you.

[bleakdog]

. . . Oh.

[Hm. Akutagawa ponders this, then cautiously lets Rashomon drift up Takiji's arm, wrapping around it like a snake.]

Is that what you mean?

Like that.

[Takiji pets Rashomon with his free hand, like he might run his hand affectionately through Akutagawa's hair. It's not much different.]

[Akutagawa doesn't quite smile, but his expression definitely loses some of its uncertainty and anxiety with that gentle touch. It's nice. More than that, it assures him that this is really all right.]

[He tries to remember what else happened. He pulled Takiji close, he remembers that. Tentatively, he lets Rashomon wind around Takiji's waist and tug him a few inches closer.]

[Takiji lets himself be pulled. When he's close enough to kiss Akutagawa, he does so, gently on the lips. Only a soft, brief kiss.]

I trust you.

[It needs to be said, because it's rare for both of them, to trust and to be trusted.]

[He blinks. Both at the kiss and the affirmation. He still isn't sure what's happening.]

I love you.

[He . . . thinks Takiji wants him to keep going. He's pretty sure. So he lets Rashomon curl tighter around Takiji's waist and keep going, winding slow around his chest and upper arms, watching carefully all the while.]

[Takiji has every reason to be nervous when he's trapped. And he is, normally. He doesn't like being locked in anywhere, unless it's to keep other people out.

But Rashomon - Akutagawa - is different. He's just as safe with Rashomon wound around him as he would be without.

The shiver that passes through Takiji isn't from fear.]

[. . . What?]

[Akutagawa stops. Not because he doesn't believe what Takiji's said, because he thinks that trust isn't real, but because--he doesn't understand. He thinks he's starting to, maybe, but what he's thinking seems so unlikely.]

Takiji . . . ?

[They're so close, and Takiji doesn't look frightened. He looks--well. Pretty much the opposite.]

[So how do you say 'being tied up with your ability turns me on', because Takiji thinks Akutagawa is getting that idea, but he can't come up with a way to explicitly say it that wouldn't embarrass him half to death.]

...Yes?

[Maybe if he asks Akutagawa to say it first he'll survive. Or they'll both die.]

[Oh, no. He can't say it. He has no idea what the words would even be. His brows draw together briefly in confusion.]

Takiji, do you--

[No, he can't do it that directly. Uhhh.]

You . . . said you didn't dislike Rashomon holding onto you. But. Do you--like it?

[That's close enough for everyone to have the idea. Hopefully Akutagawa won't ask why.]

Oh.

[And Akutagawa flushes. Bewildered, confused, and a little turned on himself at the concept, he just stares for a long, tongue-tied moment.]

You mean--really? You like it like that? Why? [Sorry, Takiji.]

[WHAT DID I JUST SAY IN BRACKET TEXT

Takiji would probably be covering his face if he could right now. He would be sinking into the earth if he could manage that.]

I-I don't know why. I just - it's part of you, and I like you. I like being held by you normally...

[There doesn't have to be a reason. Akutagawa can accept that. In fact, he's quickly shifting from confusion to fascination. Takiji really likes Rashomon that much?]

That's what you thought of today? When I grabbed you.

[All Takiji thought was how good it felt . . . Experimentally, Akutagawa tightens Rashomon's grip around Takiji's chest again, just to make sure.]

[Even with Rashomon around Takiji's chest, he still has enough range of movement for his breath to hitch at being held more tightly. Akutagawa won't actually hurt him or keep him from breathing. Takiji's confident of that.]

I was - more surprised then, but. Yes.

[His fingers dig into his sides, a nervous fidgeting movement when he can't move much.]

Then you thought about it . . . all day?

[He's awed. No, he's floored. Rashomon cascades down from Takiji's forearms to twine through his fingers, a much more effusive gesture of fondness than Akutagawa's slightly widened eyes.]

It was a very distracting thought.

[Takiji has held Rashomon's 'hand' before, but this seems a little different than that night when he ran into Akutagawa on the street. More intimate. He curls his hand around Rashomon's tendrils.]

[bleakdog]

[Of course it is. Akutagawa is quite certain that he is going to be periodically distracted by this thought for the next--forever, maybe. But that's not for the moment, because it's not something he has to imagine.]

[What has Takiji been imagining exactly? He's being so dodgy. Shy, Akutagawa supposes, but he wants to know. He doesn't know how to do this; he's worried about doing it wrong.]

. . . How much do you want? [Or maybe:] How far can I go?

[It's hard not to be shy. But also, he knows Akutagawa doesn't have much experience. Not more than he does. And the both of them are afraid of overstepping their bounds.

Takiji wets his mouth and tries to speak without stumbling over his own words.]

...Can you... take me, like this?

[bleakdog]

[There is a long, long moment when Akutagawa just. Sits there. His expression doesn't change, he doesn't blink, he doesn't move. The only thing that happens is he gradually goes absolutely, unbelievably red.]

[Oh, he thinks, somewhat dizzily. At least now I know.]

[After a while, he manages a nod.]

Uh-huh.

[. . . HE'S STILL GONNA BE SHORT CIRCUITING FOR A MINUTE HERE THOUGH]

[Someone else might have laughed at Akutagawa here. Takiji understands his position too well to do anything like that, but he does recognize that it's funny how he can stun him into total stillness just by asking him to have sex with him.]

...I don't think I can take my clothes off like this.

[His arms are sort of useless right now.]

[The stunned silence has given way to a thoughtful one, which means that Akutagawa nods. He's heard, he understands; more than that, he thinks he knows what to do next, although he takes another few moments to think it all through.]

[Once he has, Rashomon pulls back, curling back into his coat as he pulls away and stands, loosening the cloth around his throat.]

You should get undressed and find a way to lie comfortably, I think. [While he wanders around the other side of the bed to fold the cloth and leave it on top of his dresser, then toe off his socks and unbutton his coat. That does seem to be all he wants rid of, though, clothing-wise.]
