[There was only so much that Shuji could do with monsters out and about.

First of all, he couldn't fight, and even if he could have fought, he wasn't assigned to a team and wouldn't have been able to get into the same areas as them. He sent some of his savings to Chuuya and Baren to help fund first aid kits and water, and he helped Grell with her riddle task, but mostly he just waited and worried.

But the moment the monsters disappeared from the streets, the moment the missing people returned and everything was over, Shuji sent Chuuya a text.]

Are you okay? Can I come to your apartment? I'll bring wine. Victory wine.

[He'd rather bring wine because Chuuya won than because he ended up in the hospital.

[He steps back to open Chuuya's door, grabs the cloth bag with a couple bottles of victory wine in it (that he'd set down because hugging Chuuya was a much more pressing need), then closes the door again and joins Chuuya on the couch.]

[Hat shopping is not an activity that should be difficult. The most challenging part should involve your fashion sense. And Chuuya has great taste in hats.

The difficulty he's currently encountering is that the hat Chuuya wants is on a rack that's just outside of his reach, and he's not willing to try jumping for it in a public store and making himself look ridiculous. So he's currently glaring up at it while considering his options.

Have you ever wanted to be the one people ask to get things from high shelves, taller Chuuya? Now's your chance.]

chuuya's been on the other side of this many times, with something just outside his reach, and he's never willing to sacrifice his dignity by jumping for it either-- so of course he recognizes what's going on here pretty much immediately.
