[Introducing Atsushi and Kyouka to the library had been, in some ways, surprisingly easy.
Chuuya had disappeared for a few months, so it wasn't all that strange that he'd come back with two more people in tow - and given that they were all dead authors anyway, explaining that there was a parallel world where they weren't dead authors hadn't been that difficult. Miss Librarian had accepted it, anyway, and Miss Librarian's word was law.
Things kind of go that way when she's literally the only reason any of them are alive.
Chuuya'd introduced Atsushi and Kyouka to the chief librarian, a boisterous man who'd welcomed them to the library and told them they could stay as long as they liked. Then to the talking cat, who'd been quieter, but told them that there were library positions they could fill - normal positions, like filing books. They could live peaceful lives, if they wanted.
Miss Librarian took care of explaining things to the other authors, and the first writer who approached Atsushi when he had a moment to himself was...]
Ah, excuse me. You're... Atsushi-kun?
[...a nervous-looking young man with a boa made of white tiger fur.]

[He didn't know if he should tell him that he just came from a war with an organization called The Guild or his many attempts to escape the mafia. He'll tell him if it comes up.]
How is it like here? Chuuya told me that there are people here with the same names.
[Everyone has been so nice too. It's almost hard to believe.]
1/2
[Because what could be better than helping other people?]
I recognize those names - we don't have Yosano or Fukuzawa in the library at the moment, but the others-

[The person who announces himself so loudly looks more like a stage magician than anything else. Like, even Chuuya wouldn't wear a hat like that, come on.
Atsushi barely restrains a sigh.]
Hello, Ranpo-san.

While he's wondering who this could be he listens to the other Atsushi.
Wait, this is Ranpo-san?
In a way this Ranpo isn't too different from the one at the agency.]
"Um, hello, Ranpo-san."
[He's not sure how to introduce himself.]

He just arrived here, please try to be less pushy than usual... [Atsushi is very used to Ranpo doing this, but other-Atsushi is a new arrival, he's surely not in the mood for an interview.]

Atsushi hums as he rubs the back of his neck.]
Um, who me? I don't think there's much to tell. I can try to answer some questions.
[He wouldn't be able to answer all his questions today. He didn't think there were any questions that he had to answer!]

Would you consider yourself to be a normal human, or are there any exceptional abilities you possess?
no subject
This is too many things to worry about at once.
Atsushi tries to figure out where he can go with his answer. He could lie, but he has a feeling this Ranpo could see through it too. He didn't want to tell the truth then again it's Ranpo! He's sees no solution to this, though he's going to try.]
Um, I consider myself human, does that answer the question?
[He hopes he didn't accidentally lead into another string of questions.]

Ranpo-san, please leave Atsushi-kun alone, you're making him uncomfortable.
But-
Ranpo-san.
[Atsushi's attempt at being stern for once seems to be working, as Ranpo sighs and relents, at least for a bit.]

Ranpo-san, what do you write?
[That's should distract him, right?]

I'm famous for both my detective fiction and my work with ero guro!
[Bad news: ...that.]

What kind of detective stories do you write?
[He hopes that didn't come off as rude.]

My most famous series features Detective Kogoro Akechi. Most of my work is for adults, but I've also done juvenile fiction that's turned out surprisingly well.
[And doesn't have ero guro in it.]

Can you tell me about that series and the one you did for kids? They both sound really interesting.
[Not having ero guro in it is a plus.]

I'd be happy to share some with you if you were ever interested~
