[Introducing Atsushi and Kyouka to the library had been, in some ways, surprisingly easy.

Chuuya had disappeared for a few months, so it wasn't all that strange that he'd come back with two more people in tow - and given that they were all dead authors anyway, explaining that there was a parallel world where they weren't dead authors hadn't been that difficult. Miss Librarian had accepted it, anyway, and Miss Librarian's word was law.

Things kind of go that way when she's literally the only reason any of them are alive.

Chuuya'd introduced Atsushi and Kyouka to the chief librarian, a boisterous man who'd welcomed them to the library and told them they could stay as long as they liked. Then to the talking cat, who'd been quieter, but told them that there were library positions they could fill - normal positions, like filing books. They could live peaceful lives, if they wanted.

Miss Librarian took care of explaining things to the other authors, and the first writer who approached Atsushi when he had a moment to himself was...]

Ah, excuse me. You're... Atsushi-kun?

[...a nervous-looking young man with a boa made of white tiger fur.]

[Atsushi appreciates the way that other Atsushi tries to stop Ranpo-san. He doesn't want to answer any questions or explain his power. It's the reason why he had such a life in his former home and jumped at the chance to come to this one. He gives a small smile over at the other Atsushi. It's nice to have someone try and stop this Ranpo. Maybe he can try to ask something different.]

Ranpo-san, what do you write?

[Wait...what!? Ero Guro? Atsushi isn't aware the conversation would take such a turn. Okay, maybe he can steer it back to some place neutral.]

What kind of detective stories do you write?

[He hopes that didn't come off as rude.]

My most famous series features Detective Kogoro Akechi. Most of my work is for adults, but I've also done juvenile fiction that's turned out surprisingly well.

[And doesn't have ero guro in it.]

Can you tell me about that series and the one you did for kids? They both sound really interesting.
