[Welcome to Azakawa.

It's a small village tucked away in the mountains. There's really nothing particularly notable about it, except maybe for the more spiritually sensitive who will hear the hate and resentment coming from the spirits of the forest if they get near. (But Suga will tell you not to get near.)

The museum is usually near-empty save for Suga and C-ta, and sometimes Pericles if he's visiting. Suga will foist glowstone charms off on anyone who visits - he has enough to spare and he's happy to finally be able to do something to protect his friends. You can read about the history of the village and the Kotori Obake.

Every now and then you'll overhear something unpleasant - like a village official telling Suga to give up on his superstitious nonsense and let the museum be torn down already, it's not his problem that Suga is too creepy to get another job. Suga seems entirely used to this kind of treatment.

It's not a big deal. He has friends here now, and he's happy. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of him.]

he bites his lip, trying to hold himself from saying something he might regret. ]

Koutarou. I was just talking to him because I wanted to talk to someone that didn’t look at me like I was some sort of curse. And if I get in a good standing with him, they might be able to put in a good word for me. And if the villagers like me, then they might like you better too. …You’re so dumb sometimes. [ he says it in a small voice, green eyes looking away. ] But I guess I am too.

[ with that, he turns away to leave…

[Well that conversation went well and cleared up everybody's worries and fears, good job team.

Suga retires to their room to curl up on the bed and try not to cry more.]

[ yuuta almost expected suga to walk after him into the kitchen… but when he hears the footsteps walking away…

he sighs, staring at his cup of tea. what an idiot. he’s such an idiot. something like this would never help anyone but yuuta himself. he’s so selfish. why does suga not kick him out?

he dumps the tea in the sink, and makes his way to the bedroom, as quiet as a mouse, sitting down on his side of the bed. ]

You really think I’ll leave you? Koutarou?

[Ah. Suga wipes at his eyes.]

...I don't really. You're a loyal person. I don't think you'd do something like that.

...But you should. You could find someone much better than me if you wanted to.

[ that’s a hard thing to dispute. seeing suga like this, yuuta knows he has to choose his words carefully. he has to avoid hurting him any more than he already hurt himself.

he runs his fingers through suga’s hair, talking quietly. ]

If anyone needs to find someone better, it’s you. I told you before, right? In the jail cell. That you should forget about me. I’m a mess of a person—this is just proof of that.

[Suga closes his eyes, leaning into that gentle touch.]

I don't want to. You make me happy, mess and all.

[ he sighs deeply. ]

[ he breathes out a sigh, laying down on the bed and pulling suga close. ]

I guess I just thought that I was the jealous one.

[Finally, Suga cracks a small smile.]

What have I told you? It's fair if we both get to do it, right?

Oho? What are you going to do about it then? Are you going to tell that guy to leave me alone? Show him that I’m yours and yours only?

[He tugs a little at the collar of Yuuta's shirt.

Honey Yuuta's left hickies on you hundreds of times.]

[ c-ta looks at him with owlish eyes. clearly he doesn’t know what suga’s implying. ]

[He hasn't yet, because he still isn't sure if it'd be welcome.]

[ yuuta stutters, taken aback by the straightforward question. there’s a bit of uncertainty regarding letting his guard down but… ]

I—if you want. I don’t mind…

[Well, okay. He leans in to suck a light red mark on Yuuta's neck - unlike with Suga, his shirts aren't usually high enough to cover that.]

[mearry]

[ there’s a small noise from yuuta. he can’t observe the work, but from what he just felt he Knows that it’s going to be visible. ]

You’re kind of cute when you’re jealous, actually. [ he knows he shouldn’t encourage this, but there’s a lot of things he shouldn’t do. ] All yours.

he sighs. ]

It hurts. Thinking that someone else would be better than you... Thinking that maybe you'll be left behind, and worse, that maybe you should be left behind for the person you love's happiness.
