You've awoken in a creepy goth carnival, with a rasping moth man informing you that you've entered a tournament as part of a greater Ritual. The ritual will be complete, and the living returned to their world, when only one participant remains. If no one kills, then Grimm will be forced to provide a little extra incentive to get things moving.

[ He doesn't mind the company, actually. It's kind of nice knowing you're not the only person who barely remembers anything. In fact, now that she's been hanging around long enough he's starting to get attached to the kid. ]

Probably not, [ he muses as he peers into his own distorted reflection, ] This seems like a normal attraction for a carnival to have.

[ Most people would laugh at their image in the warped mirrors, right? Even so, all Luca sees in those mirrors is a stark reminder of his troubles in the form of a mystery blemish over his eye. He can't help but put his hand to his discolored eyelid... ]

Hey, do you think this has healed any since I woke up here?

Uh... [She stares a little.] Don't think so. Is it really a bruise? Maybe you were born like that.

Possibly. Though I can't imagine anyone else with a birthmark that looks like this.

[ He squints at the reflection, and the bruised(?) eye nearly closes. He blinks. ]

Hm. [ He turns towards Makoto. ] But I'm sure there are more important things to worry about.

Obviously. This is murder land. [hmph] But if it's weird, maybe there's a reason. An old injury that caused your amnesia! Like off TV.

[Alright, that first remark was funny, but the last thing sounded completely foriegn to him.]

Tee-vee? Sorry, what is Tee-vee?

[Okay, most things in this place were at least somewhat familiar to him, and if they weren't, he'd be able to assume what it probably is due to context. But then someone mentions things like "internet" or "tv" or "texting" and he starts drawing a complete blank.

Maybe those didn't exist wherever he's from.]

It's this thing everyone has in their house where you can watch stuff. Like stories and things on the news. [Makoto scratches her head.]

[ Luca tilts his head. ]

Everyone has one? Funny, that idea sounds strange to me... As interesting as it is.

Probably everyone. Unless you're, like, really poor or something, I guess. Why?

Well, I don't remember much of anything at all, but it probably says something about me if I'm more familiar with electric wiring than tee-vee.

It just says something about where you came from, I'm pretty sure. Some people's worlds sound dumb. Like how Kirika is a "magical girl" on her profile but she's a total jerk and magical girls are supposed to be nice.

And there's another thing I'm not familiar with at all! When you say "magical girl" the first thing I think of is a woman who either practices witchcraft or possesses supernatural powers. Neither of those descriptions suggest inherent kindness, especially the first one.

That's a witch, not a magical girl! Magical girls are cuter and nice and do good deeds. And I guess they can be witches too, but that's not important right now! What I mean is Kirika's selfish and hogs all the snacks like they're hers and she won't stop talking about her stupid girlfriend.

[ Oh right, Kirika was that boorish girl with the sweet tooth. It's hard to forget a girl like that, but Luca hadn't talked to her much for good reason. ]

I do agree, she is troublesome. [ He quirks a brow ] But who's to say that magical girls from her world only act nice on the job to keep up appearances? After all, they're still human... Aren't they?

Grimm's not human and he kidnapped us and wants us all to die, and even he doesn't hog the cake.

[ He pauses... ]

You know. There are a few things I find funny about that... Host. For lack of a better word.

What about him? I think it's all weird.

[ He nods at that. ]

But don't you think it's strange how a... Creature... Whatever the host is. Isn't it strange how a fellow who wants us to kill each other seems to treat his captives with charity and respect? I'd half expect a bloodthirsty kidnapper to be more cruel than that.

Yeah, it's messed up. And he always gives the same excuse that makes no sense! Who even needs a ritual like that?

[ That ritual... Just what was so important it needed such human sacrifice? ]

... Remind me again, did you find anything strange about this tent other than the mirrors?

Uh... mostly just mirrors. I think part of it's a maze? Do you think we're gonna find something?

[ He has an expectant smirk on his face... ]

Maybe! If we look close enough, that is.

[ Like peeking behind the mirrors as he is doing here. ]

[Makoto knocks on a mirror and stares at it.]

Like if something's hidden behind it? Or in it!

[ Beat. ]

Wait, did you just find something?

Not yet. But I'm gonna! Wait, it's bad to break mirrors, right?

Erm... Well... Mirrors are made of glass. You might hurt yourself if you simply break them open.

[ He starts walking away from the mirror he was expecting. ]

Besides, there could be more to this area than just the mirrors.
