For Matcha.
[Dazai's favorite coffee shop was a small one, privately-owned instead of a hell chain like Starbucks. The coffee is a little more expensive, but also it doesn't taste like crap. Dazai orders the same thing every time, puts the same amount of milk and sugar in, and is never disappointed.
There's one other reason he comes here regularly-]
Good morning, Ango.
[-which is that he knows the cute guy in the leather jacket comes here at this time at least a couple times a week, and they've been flirting for ages now. Dazai doesn't even ask before he sits down at the same table as him.]

He's mixing a slice of homemade cheesecake in his black coffee when the redhead sits at his table. ]
Good morning yourself. [ He smiles, looking at the redhead from over the rims of his shades. ] Got up bright and early just to see me?

Not- not at all. Some of us wouldn't survive our jobs without coffee.
[He has no idea what Ango does for a living, but as for himself, if he didn't have caffeine he'd never be able to deal with the other fashion designers he has to work with.]

Think you could survive me without caffeine? 'Cause I'd still like to give you a try sometime.

[Of course it makes Dazai blush a little more, but he knows Ango's type - or at least thinks he does - and he swore off one-night-stands after his last few disasters with them. Only actual dating for him now.
So even though Ango is really hot, Dazai can't just swoon into his manly arms when he tries a pick-up line.]

You'd be surprised.
[ Such is the life of a host: the tell-tale blush and the quick rebuff are the hallmarks of someone who really wants what they shouldn't have. Not to mention, they keep food in his belly and a roof over his head. ]
So, what's new?
[ Would it be a work rant today? Or love life troubles? Could be anything. ]

Luckily, the opportunity to complain is an effective distraction.]
Passed over for a promotion for a senior member whose work is worse. Of course I understand that the company rewards those who've stayed there longer, but seeing someone whose work is only so-so get a raise when you don't...
I envy the self-employed.

[ He props his head up on a hand, elbow planted firmly on the tabletop as he spoons more coffee-soaked cheesecake into his mouth. It's starting to resemble a sludgy mud of deliciousness. ]
Or maybe you should strike out on your own. Become the one you envy.

[He's spent too long unemployed, even if that was a while ago. The idea of leaving his job and not making it is terrifying. Not to mention that his family would kill him.
Or worse, be disappointed in him.]
What's about you, how's it going?
