Tarot post.
Would anyone like a Tarot reading?
[A deck is on the table in front of her.]
Simply focus on your question while shuffling the deck, and inform me of your question when you return the deck to me. Then I can read your fortune.
[Any game, any character will be read with a real shuffling of a real Tarot deck!]

Sorry for the late, left my Tarot deck at home.
Please focus on your question while you shuffle. When you're finished, give them back to me and tell me the question.
Similar apologies here, week's been crazy and I haven't been feeling too well
I seem to have encountered a mystery of late, one that challenges the limits of all knowledge sources I have available to me. The one to whom my query pertains is from a world I know almost nothing about, even if I have some guesses about a few details. I would know, were it possible, what is the nature of the trauma this person has been through, or perhaps simply whether there are unconsidered avenues available to explore that question.
[She slides the deck in Eater's direction with as casual-seeming a demeanor as if she'd just asked for a prediction of the weather.]

The past is represented by the Hierophant. A card of education and knowledge, of following the rules, of being in an institutionalized setting.
The present is called to by the Two of Cups. A connection is being formed by this person, or a truce is being called - this card can show a person declaring peace or working together with someone new.
The Six of Cups helps this person. Good will, acting kindly or charitably, having a clear conscience, and being well-intentioned.
The High Priestess is hindering this person. When the High Priestess means withdrawing from involvement and not intervening, the person may need to take more of an active role.
The attitudes of others are shown by the Five of Pentacles. Hard times and ill health - the person may need to step in and help others more.
This person's actions are shown by Strength. Strength is not a card of force, but rather an inner strength, soft control, patience and compassion. The person guides events and works with others.
Finally, their results are shown by the Empress. The Empress shows abundance - having more than enough and receiving lavish reward. It is an excellent card to receive in this position.
Was your person, perhaps, following the rules, but not in the best of ways, or not with good intentions? This person may need to act more directly to help those who are in need of support.
Whatever the case, I suggest that your results shall be rewarded.

I think I understand some of it. The past is as I had gathered, to the extent readily discerned; there is little ambiguity to that much of his basic nature. The present situation is as you describe, possibly on more than one level. The six cups card... I could interpret a few different ways, none of them surprising.
The High Priestess... seems the complementary warning to one I have already received... It has become clear that I am treading on some fairly thin ice at this point, and there is definite risk in pushing too hard. I believe this may be a reminder that there is also risk in backing off...
I'm not sure I understand this five pentacles card's implications... it might be helpful to hear more about its symbolic context...
I would say that this person is someone who is very dedicated to law and to truth, but it is also clear that he has committed 'sins' of some sort against that very dedication which trouble him deeply. I do not yet know the details of any such past transgressions, though the prospect of misapplied blame has been invoked...

I am to understand that he has had his trust betrayed in the past by those who have offered help or support but turned out to have darker motives. He is a very isolated individual. His circumstances have cut him off from those who understand him well, and he is clearly having a very difficult time adjusting. Disapproval he may find more of in times to come; the Foundation is fascinated by what he represents, but some churches might be horrified... His health, at least, seems to be in good condition to the extent I can perceive.
Nonetheless, he seems a very driven and proactive individual who seeks to bring about outcomes that he believes rightness and the needs of society demand. His will is very strong, and he seeks similar resolve in those who would challenge him. His approach is one of intellectual adversity; he fights with words, arguments, evidence, proof... It has a much harsher presentation and feel than it sounds like Strength was meant to evoke here, but the basic nature may not be truly dissimilar.
