Chuuya's eyebrows raise, and he's quiet for a second, before finally pronouncing his verdict on the fact that he's drinking with a mafioso:]

Huh. Interesting.

[And he has another drink of sake.]

[What an interesting reaction. There’s not a hint of fear within this other Chuuya...]

A poet...though you look like you’ve got combat experience. Odd.

[He won’t pry, but it’s certainly interesting.]

Should I call you Nakahara-san?

[Or he just doesn't give a shit, but he nods when Akutagawa suggests that he has combat experience.]

Nobody ever calls me by my last name, but I guess it'd make things easier. But if we were going by 'whatever you don't call your coworker', I'd be calling you Ryuunosuke-san.

[Akutagawa looks none too pleased with that nickname.]

Just Akutagawa is fine.

[He takes another drink.]

Chuuya-san suits you better.

[He’s finished off another drink, and now he’s feeling tipsy.]

Chuuya-san...my coworker...is hellbent on drowning himself in alcohol to forget the man that both wronged us.

[Akutagawa would rather face his problems head on instead of drowning them in liquor, but Chuuya isn’t Akutagawa.]

I plan on becoming intoxicated tonight. Do you have drink recommendations besides sake?

You bet I do.

[Chuuya knows more about alcohol than I ever will so blah blah, drinks if you want it to actually taste good, drinks if you want to get drunk quickly, cheaper drinks, a whole wealth of knowledge here.]

[Oh boy...he’s totally drunk now...]

The Dazai I know is the one trying to get "Akutagawa-sensei" to notice him.

[It's kind of pathetic, but he's not going to say that right now.]

Ah. Did you have transportation home after this?

I was planning on walking.

[You know, after dark, while mostly drunk, in an area of Yokohama frequented by members of the mafia.]

I could arrange transportation for you. Both of us, actually, as compensation for your time.

[Even being drunk doesn’t change that overly formal speech.]

I’m still enjoying our drinks at the moment, however.

That wasn’t what I meant, no.

[He’s really feeling the booze now, swaying on his seat as he narrows his eyes at Chuuya.]

[Flattery will get you everywhere, Akutagawa.]

I just said-

[The second he stands up from the barstool his head swims, and he plops back down on the stool with a groan, clutching his head.]

[Akutagawa calls them a cab, and as soon as they’re inside he curses.]

I got carried away. Nonetheless. Where do you live?

[Akutagawa really doesn't look like someone who can hold his drink, and in this situation, you can judge a book by its cover.]

Yokohama Central Library. You can crash in my room for the night.

[Don't worry too much about why he lives in a library.]

Right. The library.

[The driver knows where to go, and soon enough they’re at the library, Akutagawa keeping himself steady by leaning all over Chuuya.]

Your room...where is it...there’s books everywhere...

[Chuuya sighs and tries to take Akutagawa's hand to lead him/make sure he doesn't fall over.

He passes through an 'employees only' door without hesitation, then opens one of the many doors in this hallway into what looks like a relatively standard bedroom.]

It's only got the one bed, sorry.

[mafiadog]

Ah.

[Akutagawa is finally able to let go of Chuuya and stumble over to the bed before plopping down on the edge, cheeks flushed from the alcohol.]

Where are you going to sleep?

[Wow rude.]

[Seriously rude. Chuuya takes off his hat and sets it aside, before plopping down on the other side of the bed.]
