[Seriously rude. Chuuya takes off his hat and sets it aside, before plopping down on the other side of the bed.]

[Akutagawa blinks slowly as Chuuya crawls into bed with him, and he realizes that he hasn’t even taken his shoes off yet.

He slips them off before lying on his back to stare up at the ceiling. What is he doing? Sleeping with a complete stranger? Not that he couldn’t defend himself if need be...]

You’re not going to ask me for anything? Favors?

[goatsongs]

I'm going to ask you to stop talking so I can sleep.

[Chuuya kicks his shoes off and settles down on his side, with his back to Akutagawa.]

You don’t want sex?

[Isn’t that how these things usually go...?]

Didn't you already say you weren't actually offering?

...I’m simply used to repaying my debts immediately. But very well.

Whenever Chuuya falls asleep Akutagawa will follow soon after, and when they’re awoken by the sun shining in through the window Chuuya will find Akutagawa spooning him.]

[Well, Chuuya's awake. With a hangover, but what's new?

The mafia assassin spooning him, that's what's new.

This would be a lot more comfortable if Chuuya knew Akutagawa better and also didn't have work. But since that's not the case, he tries to slip out of bed without disturbing Akutagawa too much. Let him sleep in.]

[mafiadog]

[Except Akutagawa isn’t going to let him go that easily. He’s clinging to him now, grumbling in his sleep, and if Chuuya keeps struggling he’ll get a very grumpy look when Akutagawa is forced awake.]

Don’t. You’re warm.

I'm warm but I've still got work today.

[Don't people in the mafia know it's important to get to work?]

Stay.

[Looks like Chuuya doesn’t have much choice. Akutagawa’s coat produces several tendrils that wrap around Chuuya’s middle, pinning his arms to his sides and keeping him there.]

[Well, that sort of has his decision made for him, doesn't it. Chuuya stops struggling.]

You know somebody's going to come yell at me for 'oversleeping' eventually, right.

Call in sick.

[That’s not a thing you can do as a dead author, but Akutagawa doesn’t know that.]

My head is pounding...

I'd have to get up to call in.

[...and at least stick his head out the door.]

First hangover?

[mafiadog]

...yes.

[Akutagawa will reluctantly let Chuuya up, retracting the tendrils wrapped around him.]

Do you have pills? For the pain?

[goatsongs]

I'll get you some. Back in a couple minutes.

[Chuuya makes sure to shut the door behind him when he leaves so other people won't see Akutagawa in his room.

He heads to the infirmary, has a brief conversation with Mori - 'hey there's a guy in my room who's dealing with Baby's First Hangover so I need painkillers, plus I won't be doing morning delves' - and soon returns to his room with a glass of water and a bottle of painkillers, both of which he hands to Akutagawa.]

Take two.

...thanks.

[Akutagawa doesn’t realize just how bad he’s feeling until he tries to sit up, and then the world starts spinning, his head throbbing, and he immediately lies back down with a groan.

Thank god Chuuya shows up shortly after with painkillers, which Akutagawa immediately downs.]

Alcohol is terrible.

[He gives Chuuya a once-over.]

How are you not hungover as badly? You drank more than I did.

I'm used to it from drinking constantly. Trust me, you'd rather have the shitty hangovers.

[Withdrawal symptoms are a bitch.

Chuuya sits down next to Akutagawa, so he can go back to clinging to him if he wants.]

[mafiadog]

I see.

[A tiny tendril of Rashōmon emerges unbidden from his sleeve to wrap around Chuuya’s wrist.]

You haven’t asked what my powers are. Or seemed afraid of them.

[Tiny Rashomon gets a soft pat from Chuuya.]

You could probably kill me with them if you wanted to, yeah? I've been figuring you could kill me since you told me you were a mafia assassin, this doesn't make any difference.

[Actually, it's kind of cute...]

...interesting.

[He’ll need to report back to HQ soon, but for now...]

Are you going to allow me to stay, then?

[The tendril of Rashomon squeezes a little tighter before Akutagawa let’s go and lies back down.]

Why do you live in a library?

Dead people don't usually have their own houses.

[Delivered entirely matter-of-factly, like: of course that's the most reasonable explanation.]

Stay as long as you want.

[Akutagawa looks at Chuuya like he’s crazy, one eyebrow raised.]

Explain.

[goatsongs]

[Looking at Chuuya like he's gone crazy is the sane reaction. Chuuya puffs out a sigh.]

Can you cut my hand? I don't have anything on me unless you want me to try to get myself to bleed with a pen.

[He figures Akutagawa has at least some ways of making a person bleed.]

...I suppose.

[Nobody has ever asked Akutagawa to hurt them before, but he supposes there must be a reason for it, and he lashes out with Rashōmon to cut Chuuya’s palm in a nice, neat line.]

[goatsongs]

[Chuuya only winces momentarily, before holding out his hand palm-up to show Akutagawa exactly why he'd asked: the cut 'bleeds' ink. No ordinary human being would have that black liquid dripping from their hand.]

Does this clear anything up?
