[Chuuya dives in and kicks the injured Taint as hard as he can, effectively turning it into a mess of ink.]

Looks like I had to finish your job for you.

[He chuckles, waving over at poet-Chuuya.]

How many do we have to fight to clear the book? Is there a boss?

Depends how corrupted the book is, but if we find the main path to the 'boss' I'd say probably at least twelve more. There's usually a leader Taint riling the other ones up, it's just a pain to find them.

[It's gotten foggy all of a sudden...]

[It sure has gotten foggy, and Chuuya immediately goes on the defensive, preparing himself for an ambush. He has no idea how many forms these Taints can take, but he’s determined to punch them all into oblivion to protect the others. Yes, even Shuji.]

They could show up any second - oh, not those guys.

[Two more Taints have appeared, but Chuuya's reaction is one of annoyance rather than fear.

Fuck these guys. It's hard to damage them at all unless you get a lucky shot and they're just a pain in the ass.

That's made quickly apparent - Niimi and Chuuya both get a shot in, one on each of the Taints, but they don't even flinch.]

That Taint is...fucking huge. And cool looking, but Chuuya can’t get distracted by that right now. He’s got his fists and a knife in his pocket so...

Attacks have a wide range and can hit all of us at once. If you think you're out of its range, you're not.

[At least he and Niimi can manage to get their shots off first, but then that Taint tries to trample the fuck out of all of them.

Shuji takes it pretty well - Chuuya and Niimi both get hit and both take a significant amount of damage from being run over.]

[Fuck. What is he supposed to do without his ability?? He’ll try punching it, kicking it, throwing knives at it, but damned if he doesn’t feel near useless right now. Seeing his boyfriend get hurt throws him into a rage, and boss be damned, he’s going to try his best to kick its ass.]
