[Atsushi deserved the world, and he deserved a beautiful wedding. Chuuya couldn't legally give him a marriage - while Atsushi might have had papers sorted out to be able to live in his world as a regular person, Chuuya was a spirit. There wasn't any way to marry someone who didn't exist as a person.

But a wedding, he could do.

The authors had been all too eager to help Chuuya and Atsushi with arrangements. The Chief Librarian and the Cat had found a Shinto priest willing to do the blessings, Dazai had helped Atsushi pick out a hakama to wear at the wedding.

And as for Atsushi's end, Fukuzawa had insisted on paying for everything - ceremony, reception, food, outfits, the works. Everyone who wasn't Dazai was excited about Atsushi's wedding, and even Dazai had been lectured into not being visibly grumpy about it.

The temple is nearby, practically in walking distance, but Chuuya and Atsushi are being driven there (again, Chief Librarian) so they don't have to worry about getting their hakama dirty. So all that has to be done is to get in the car.

But Chuuya has forgotten how to walk, or think, or do anything but stare at Atsushi in his wedding outfit, the first time Chuuya's seen him in it.]

...Atsushi, you're beautiful.

[Atsushi squeezes it back. He can't believe Chuuya is getting choked up over him he didn't think his heart could melt any more, yet it is. Atsushi leans over to kiss his cheek.]

I'll do my best to make you happy every day Chuuya. We should probably go now.

[Before he started crying again.]

[Chuuya nods, and manages not to start crying before they exit the car.

Mori-sensei and Fukuzawa are in conversation when they arrive. Both of them are as serious-faced as always, but there's a lightness around Fukuzawa's eyes that says that he's happy, and Mori pulls Chuuya into a hug when he comes near.]

Mori-sensei... [Oh no, Chuuya's choked up again.]

[Fukuzawa nearly smiles.] Are you ready to be married?

[Atsushi can't stop the tear that goes down his cheek at Fukuzawa's words. He looks so happy, the happiest that Atsushi has ever saw, and it's over this. He can't believe it. He wants to thank him again for paying for everything when he can't get the words out. Atsushi feels Fukuzawa knows what he's going to say cause Fukuzawa only shakes his head as he hold out his arm.

Ready? Fukuzawa asks.

Atsushi nods as he takes his arm. He looks over at Mori-senpai who smiles at him. He remembers when he used to be so nervous around Mori-senpai, now he's so happy to see him. Atsushi is trying his best not to keep his tears at bay on his way inside the temple. He can see everyone's happy faces when they walk in. It's nearly too much. All of this for him, for Chuuya, he can't believe it! He's trying his best not to look over at Dazai. He's glad Kunikida got him here in the first place.]

[Later, Chuuya will have trouble remembering the exact words of the ceremony. He knows there were things that were said to him, things he and Atsushi said, but all he can remember is how happy he was, how beautiful Atsushi looked.

Nothing feels real, at least not until after the ceremony is over and they've stepped out into the reception area - whereupon Ango immediately lifts Chuuya clear off his feet to hug him.]

H-hey- [Chuuya isn't mad, just startled.]

[Ango laughs and sets Chuuya back down.] Just wanted to congratulate you two before I start Dazai-watching duty! Don't worry about that guy causing trouble, we've got it all taken care of.

[They won't let detective-Dazai ruin Chuuya and Atsushi's special day.]

[Atsushi is still in a daze when they walk into the reception area. He did it...they did it...they're married now! He's so happy that he managed to keep it together during the ceremony even if it hurt to not look over at Dazai's direction. Well, he can push it to the back of his mind for now.

He smiles when Ango picks Chuuya up, it's so nice to see him here, despite being reminded of the extra job Ango and the others are doing for him. Atsushi doesn't want them to go through the trouble when they should be celebrating like everyone else]

Ango, I can't thank you guys enough for doing this. Are you guys sure you don't want anything? I haven't gone gift shopping cause of the wedding, but I can find something for you guys soon!

[Atsushi is trying hard not to tear up over so many people making sure his day stays special. Really, it's hard for him to process among the other things.]

If you tried to give us anything for this we'd turn it down. [Ango reaches out to ruffle Atsushi's hair.] You two should just relax and enjoy yourselves.

We will. [Chuuya leans against Atsushi a little more.] I'm going to have a good time tonight with my husband.

[His husband. It's amazing to be able to say that at last.]

[Atsushi laughs softly when Ango ruffles his hair. Another surprise has been the way Ango, Oda, and Dazai volunteered for this job of keeping the agency Dazai in check. Atsushi was worried about how to handle that when Ango told him they would take care of it. He's never had so many people do things for him before, he's not sure how to handle this!

Atsushi opens his mouth to try to offer Ango something when Chuuya leans against him. Maybe he can just relax today, it is his wedding after all. Atsushi gives a sheepish smile as he nods.]

I'm going to have a good time with my husband too.

[Saying the word 'husband' makes him so giddy.]

Thanks again Ango. I hope you guys can enjoy yourselves too!

[He doesn't want them to work too hard.]

We will. Trust me, there's enough alcohol that we'll be just fine.

[Ango salutes, and then heads off to his security point so he and the other decadents can keep an eye on Dazai no matter where he goes.

Chuuya chuckles.] One down, almost everyone else in this room to go. We're going to be congratulated a lot today.

[Atsushi smiles as he waves at Ango. He can't believe that Ango and the others are going out of their way to make sure their wedding stays enjoyable. He knows Ango will tease him again, he just can't resist thanking him or everyone here.

He laughs softly as he nods.]

We will. I don't think I've ever been congratulated this much before. I don't mind though, it feels really nice.

[Atsushi leans down to press a kiss against his cheek, using this opportunity to push his shyness down.]

So, um, ready to go inside and get congratulated?

[Even now that they're married, Atsushi kissing him turns Chuuya's cheeks pink. That might never change.]

As ready as I'll ever be.

[Still holding onto his husband, Chuuya takes a step inside.

They're going to be so congratulated. It'd be impossible to write out the entire reception.]
