non-trial Alice murdergame stuff

This post is basically a catch-all for stuff from a pretend murdergame round and Alice, because throwing her in there could only be a good idea, right.

Hit me up with anything at any point! Introductions, weekly stuff, parties, afterparties, even the final investigation I don't care. I just want to play her in this kind of setting with this kind of CR.

Her title is Restrictive because I'm mean.

[They're both in the library when the announcements cut, rather unpleasantly, through the silence.

Honestly, while this is the absolute last thing he expected from Alice, he's not going to say too much about it. He knows he's fucked up. Everyone in this pit kind of is, except for a few sweet little souls who he's pretty sure did nothing to deserve this. But-

"But that's not all, folks! Marcus Pierce willingly helped a soul-eating abomination win a cosmic turf war, knowing she planned to one day destroy humanity."

...you know what, Alice, he's not exactly in a position where he can judge you once that one comes blasting over the intercoms, even if he wanted to. He's spoken just a little about his family since coming here, but nothing that even came near suggesting that, of all things, was his darkest secret.

He continues to stand where he is, glancing at her from the corner of his eye.

Finally, he takes a seat neat one of the tables and sighs deeply.

This is going to be... a thing.]

[It certainly is a thing. Alice definitely didn't expect something like that, and surprise breaks through her neutral facade for a moment when she hears it.

When the secrets are done being announced, she considers her options for a few moments, then sits down at the same table.]

...Was it worth it?

[Her voice doesn't have the same energy it usually does, and her eyes are lacking warmth.]

It's. Complicated.

[After a few seconds, he brings his eyes up to meet hers.]

But despite everything? To me, it was.

I don't think anyone here actually knows much of anything about my wife.

[I mean, most of the other people here know he's married and has two daughters, and have probably assumed that they can also use magic, but beyond that...

If Alice caught the pronoun there, that's a lady soul-eating abomination we're talking about...at least as far as gender applies to horrorterrors, anyway. He's hoping she can put two and two together, here.]

[Interesting. Kind of worrisome, but interesting.]

No, I don't think anyone does. Not any personal details anyway.

[He gives a small nod to the affirmative.]

She's part of an ancient race that lives off absorbing the souls of...other beings. Weaker, usually. There were two or three others on Earth before she dealt with them... I was the one who set up the barriers that kept them contained. Once they've got nowhere to go, it's basically shooting fish in a barrel.

...I don't want to imagine what it would be like if we had a fair fight.

[Probably the world would have been destroyed sooner.]

Honestly, if it wasn't her and our daughters that had control over the planet, it would've been someone else. Humanity's basically been screwed over since the beginning of time.

Don't get me wrong, she loves humans...but, she also knows all good things must come to an end.

[That makes sense, and she's willing to accept it. It's weird, but plenty of what she's heard here from the others has been weird, and she's... tired, today. Debating over what isn't possible takes too much energy.]

That's fine with me. If I had the ability to destroy humanity, it wouldn't be for such a nice reason.

[...so in a way, even a cosmic horror is a better person than her. Hah.]
