non-trial Alice murdergame stuff

This post is basically a catch-all for stuff from a pretend murdergame round and Alice, because throwing her in there could only be a good idea, right.

Hit me up with anything at any point! Introductions, weekly stuff, parties, afterparties, even the final investigation I don't care. I just want to play her in this kind of setting with this kind of CR.

Her title is Restrictive because I'm mean.

[She's huddled in the nook of the hallway where the prize machine is, not that it's a great hiding spot. When she spots Alice, she hesitates like she's not sure what to do.]

...I didn't know.

[She freezes, looks like she's about to say something, and just nods in defeat.]

Why? Was it because of where you're from or something you did?

[...There's no point in keeping things hidden any longer.

Alice takes a seat facing Supergirl, a respectful distance away, with her hands folded in her lap.]

I hate the world, and almost everyone in it. I didn't always, even growing up in poverty with other children.

Someone important to me was killed by a gang. We'd been paying them off to leave us alone, but they were paid more by the mayor to get us off the streets. I killed that gang by myself, but when I did... the other children were terrified of me, and I couldn't stay there any longer.

Someone asked me to come work for him to kill other people. I asked him for a ridiculous sum of money, and he gave it to me. So I gave it to the woman who took care of us kids, so they didn't have to suffer any more.

Because life is suffering, when you're weak. Kind people are the minority - most people will just trample over the people beneath them without any thought. ...I hate this world so much.

Do you really think so? I know there are better people, but... but I guess you're right that there are bad ones, too. People who will use everyone to get what they want and throw people under the bus if they can take the blame.

So you didn't want to be the kind of person who got hurt anymore, even if it meant hurting other people instead.

If that wasn't how the world worked, would this game have lasted this long?

[It's only more evidence in her favor. ...At least, it should be.]

You were the one who said we'd get out! As many people as we could! Did you not believe that either?

From the start, I've been acting. Just like I've been acting at my school - so that people would trust me, to make it easier to make a move when it was time for that.

Just to survive? Until you could kill someone and get out, right? Even though you were always there for the rest of us, making sure we won every trial even when it hurt too much for us to keep going on. I guess that's why you get like that, huh.

It must be difficult in trials for the rest of you, when you care about the person you have to kill. I really don't envy you any.

...Then why didn't you?

I know long plans, Alice. Granny was at the school before I was, planting fake evidence for months and trying to point anyone trying to solve the case to Vice-Principal Grodd every time she tried to break in before she tricked me into doing it for her. It hurts, and I know that, but even if you say you were biding your time, you weren't doing that. Even if you wanted to kill someone to escape. You could have, couldn't you?

[And for the first time, Alice's expression changes from something neutral. She's visibly startled for a moment or two before schooling her face back into calm.]

Nothing that was offered appealed to me enough. That's all.

[Supergirl's own expression goes more vulnerable for a moment. She shakes her head.]

You had a mission and you wanted to get out, Alice. And this week, they've been giving out secrets. Everything would be over anyway. Maybe she was right and I am naive and just want people to like me, but I think it's true.

You're naive. I've never cared about a single one of you, I just wanted to get as much out of my eventual murder as I could. I'm telling you this straight-out, so why do you insist that anything else is going on?

[She doesn't sound calm anymore. More angry, though she hasn't raised her voice.]

Because I know it can't just be that. No matter what happens, Alice, I'm going to prove it.

[She gets up, dusts off her skirt, and looks at the faint alien writing on the edge of her cape, then shakes her head.]

I'm going to prove to you that making it out of here as a group is worth it. Even if you're right about hating us, and I don't think you are, you still don't have to.

You're a super like me, Alice. We can end up good, bad, or somewhere in the middle, but we don't have to be stuck in the way we thought we were.

You're a hero who saves people at her own expense. I'm an assassin who hates every piece of this rotten world. Just because we have powers doesn't mean we have anything in common.

...But, alright. If you can prove it, then I'll apologize to you myself for every lie I've told you.

It's a deal. [She wipes her eyes with her arm.] If anyone tries to hurt you, they'll have me to answer for, too.

...You're naive, and it's ridiculous, but you can't be faulted for kindness to people who don't deserve it. I'll give you that much.

Even if it is dumb, I don't want you to die. Any of you.
