But they're empty. There's no reason for them to be decorating all the tables. Are all weddings like this?

I think they just wanted something to make the tables look prettier. And empty jars should be cheap.

Strange. I don't know what I'd want. Everybody else seems to have decided in elementary school what their wedding would be like.

I never really thought about it. If it happens, that'll be wonderful, but if it doesn't happen that's okay too.

People in elementary school don't have someone to marry. They still plan their weddings. Presumably, the other person just fits in later.

Hmm... What if I met someone and they had different plans about their wedding?

...Compromise, I suppose. Though some are specific. It might be hard.

I think marriage is supposed to be about compromise, even when it's hard. So it makes sense that weddings are like that too.

Maybe. ...What if somebody wants to get married on a farm and the other person wants to be on a boat? Would they put a motorboat in the slough or put hay bales on the deck of a ship?

I think they might have to go one way or the other and then let the other person have something else they wanted. A boat on a farm sounds silly.

I think I like boats more than mason jars. But I wouldn't put a boat on the table.

They are fascinating. I don't understand the point, but maybe it's to look nice. Aesthetic. Right?

I think that's the word for it. Maybe I'll have model boats at my wedding... or, maybe I'll have lots of flowers. Or both.

It'll probably be nice anyway. Maybe one of those weddings that's a rainbow, with everyone and everything in different colours. So the bridesmaids don't whine about what colour they had to wear.
