My, it's been quite a while since I read Tarot. Would anyone like a reading?

*This version of Enoch doesn't seem to recognize Eater. He's also dressed differently - in three layers. A cloak is fastened around his neck but worn back over his shoulders like a hooded cape instead, a short white robe is worn as a tunic over his jeans, cutting off mid-calf, and the sleeves of a sheer white shirt with buttoned cuffs are visible from where the robe's sleeves ends just above his elbows. He looks a little worse for wear, too, week-old bandages wrapped around his hands and visible under one of his sheer shirt sleeves.

He seems to recognize tarot, though, and he picks up a card from the top of the deck, scrutinizing it. It doesn't seem particularly lewd, so he places the card he picked up at the bottom of the deck and makes a clumsy attempt at shuffling it back in.*

I suppose I could use a diversion. *Up close, it's obvious he is shivering slightly, as if weakened somehow, or cold despite all the clothes he wears.* No cost? If so...ah, I have two of my friends with me now and we must feed all of us, somehow...there is a way to get steady income in this weather, but it will cost whoever takes it the entirety of their freedom. Is there a way out of this without resorting to such a thing?

[She's been in three games now, she knows better than to go 'hey it's you'.]

That seems to me a three card question. [She deals three cards: Seven of Pentacles, Ace of Cups, Nine of Pentacles.] Ah, good, the Pentacles are a suit of material resources, that's a promising start.

The major card in this reading is the Seven of Pentacles: reaping a reward or considering a change in direction. To assess one's current position and choose where to go from there, or to see the first results of one's labor.

The Ace of Cups is a card that represents the emotional force of the suit - intuition and intimacy with others.

The Nine of Pentacles stands for self-reliance, discipline, and refinement - living comfortably.

In this case, I do think there is an alternative to giving up your freedom. You may have to consider avenues you have not considered before in order to see your way out, but it does exist.

Ah...does...does the second card provide the means for the third? Because we've - I've...tried that. My friend couldn't bear to see me do such a thing.

*And like hell is he going to emotionally damage his friend for this even if it means their survival. Lucifel means too much to him.*

Well, it could mean that, but if it hurts your friend too much then you should seek other methods. The Ace of Cups wouldn't want you to harm your existing relationships.

I'm not certain what those other methods are...aside from simply waiting for spring, and with it people needed on farms. None of my skills are useful in this world otherwise.

None at all? What are your skills, sir?

Combat - but all the things which make this skill useful have been stripped from me. I can read and write - but it seems everyone is literate in this world. I have experience farming - but it is winter and nobody is looking for extra help right now. I have tried other jobs, common jobs, but none have been able to last very long.

Hmmm... Perhaps you could look into something short-term, just to last you until the spring when farming is in more demand. What's needed, I wouldn't know, it would depend on the place you live.
