Tarot post mark 8.
My, it's been quite a while since I read Tarot. Would anyone like a reading?
[A deck is on the table in front of her.]
Simply focus on your question while shuffling the deck, and inform me of your question when you return the deck to me. Then I can read your fortune.
[Any game, any character will be read with a real shuffling of a real Tarot deck!]

D--do I have to ask a specific question...? O--or can it just be something like... "how will my family do in the future"...?

[She passes the cards over to Sonico.] Please shuffle these while focusing on your question.

[ she takes the cards, and as requested, shuffles them as best she can, running the question through her mind as she does so. Once she's satisfied, she hands the cards back with a slightly nervous smile.
isn't she going to feel like a dumbass if she gets a bad draw. ]
Was that enough...?

[Eater deals out seven cards in a row.]
The Six of Pentacles stands for your past. It shows two sides to a situation: having knowledge, not having knowledge, having power and not having power. Things are rarely as clear-cut as they seem.
The Hermit stands for your present. The Hermit is a card of introspection, searching for understanding of yourself and the world. It can stand for guidance, helping others improve themselves.
You are helped by the Page of Swords. The Swords suit stands for the forces of the mind - the Page asks you to focus on being truthful and being just, and having fortitude in the face of setbacks.
You are hurt by the Seven of Wands. This card stands for aggression and defiance, putting yourself before others and refusing to yield to anyone else. In this position, the card suggests that you or someone in your family might have issues with accepting criticism or being considerate of those around you.
The attitudes of others are shown by the Page of Wands. The Page of Wands is a courageous, passionate person with confidence to spare. They're creative and optimistic. Pages, when they represent specific people, are generally people under the age of twenty.
Your actions should reflect the Three of Cups. The Three of Cups is a card about friendship and community, happiness shared with others. The more you connect with others outside of your family, the better for your own family.
Finally, the results: the Eight of Swords. A card of restriction and confusion.
Sometimes when hardship comes, it may seem like we have no options, or we may not know which options to take - but there are always options if we can only follow the Page of Swords's example and think clearly about them. Being a part of the greater community will help your family, particularly if they can resist the natural urge to try to 'come out on top'.

Will I reach my goal once this journey ends?
[Redemption is a high cost, but he's willing to pay if it makes his soul less burdened and clearer.]

Your past is shown by Justice. Taking responsibility for the choices you've made, settling debts, and understanding cause and effect.
Your present, the King of Swords. An intelligent man who focuses on being just and ethical. He lives by the highest principles that he can.
You are helped by the Ace of Cups. An emotional suit, Cups stand for intuition and being intimate with others. Few journeys are best made alone.
You are hurt by the Magician. The Magician is a card of action, having singleness of purpose and concentration on your goal - but in this position beside the Ace of Cups, only focusing on your goal can lead you to miss things or people you might have seen otherwise.
Others around you are shown by the Ten of Swords. The absolute bottom, with nowhere to go but up from here. Those who make martyrs of themselves are also shown by this card.
Your actions should reflect Judgment. A rebirth, absolution - cleansing yourself of past sins and finding a new calling.
Your results, the Hermit. A card of introspection and guidance, better knowing yourself.
Some journeys are best made without the goal constantly in mind - it is a thing to remember, certainly, but there are people to know and things to do along the way that help make you into a better person for the experience.

Then what point is the journey if it's not to reach the end goal?

AW version now because why not
He seems to recognize tarot, though, and he picks up a card from the top of the deck, scrutinizing it. It doesn't seem particularly lewd, so he places the card he picked up at the bottom of the deck and makes a clumsy attempt at shuffling it back in.*
I suppose I could use a diversion. *Up close, it's obvious he is shivering slightly, as if weakened somehow, or cold despite all the clothes he wears.* No cost? If so...ah, I have two of my friends with me now and we must feed all of us, somehow...there is a way to get steady income in this weather, but it will cost whoever takes it the entirety of their freedom. Is there a way out of this without resorting to such a thing?

That seems to me a three card question. [She deals three cards: Seven of Pentacles, Ace of Cups, Nine of Pentacles.] Ah, good, the Pentacles are a suit of material resources, that's a promising start.
The major card in this reading is the Seven of Pentacles: reaping a reward or considering a change in direction. To assess one's current position and choose where to go from there, or to see the first results of one's labor.
The Ace of Cups is a card that represents the emotional force of the suit - intuition and intimacy with others.
The Nine of Pentacles stands for self-reliance, discipline, and refinement - living comfortably.
In this case, I do think there is an alternative to giving up your freedom. You may have to consider avenues you have not considered before in order to see your way out, but it does exist.

*And like hell is he going to emotionally damage his friend for this even if it means their survival. Lucifel means too much to him.*

hi mini it's a lii with a newer muse u_u
Still, it couldn't hurt to see what would come up.
He takes the deck with a small, respectful nod and shuts his eyes, concentrating on his question while shuffling the deck as best he could. When he opens his eyes again, he hands the deck back to Eater with a smile before his expression sobers a bit.]
Will I be able to see my family reunited again?
I am so sorry
Death. The Queen of Swords. The Queen of Pentacles.
Death does not stand for literal death, I must stress - it stands for a drastic change, transitioning from one stage to the next. A force that can't be stopped, elimination of excess.
The Queen of Swords, an honest person with experience in the world. She is intelligent, and straightforward in her dealings, someone impossible to fool.
The Queen of Pentacles, a nurturing person with a large heart. Someone you can place trust in, resourceful and reliable.
Queens are positive cards. Though change can be for better or for worse, and Death's uncertainty is what makes us fear the change, the Queens suggest people in your life that you can rely on. For this kind of question, the reading points to a better state than your family is in now.

That ... that means more to me than you realize. If this even remotely comes true in any sense, I think that a lot of people will be happy.
[Especially since the "current state" of his family involves his parents being torn away into an alternate dimension thanks to a Horror when Raiga was a kid and no sign of his honorary uncle, either.
He gives a small bow.]
Thank you. This definitely helps.
