[Yonaka's favorite hobby is eating candy under the stars. It's relaxing, and she's always had a sweet tooth.

It's a fine hobby alone, but now and again it's better to do it with someone else, too. So she's invited somebody else to sit on a picnic blanket with her and munch on candy.]

It's a really pretty night, isn't it?

[The moon's full and everything.]

[B: stabby]
[There was a Mogeko.

It said something lewd. This is not a surprise: Mogekos always say lewd things, unless they're defects. It was not even said to Yonaka, but rather to the person she had been talking to. But it ticked her off.

Suddenly that Mogeko had a stab wound in it, and then shortly after that, another for good measure. As it collapsed, dead near-instantly from Yonaka's special Mogeko-killing knife, she cleaned off her blade on her shirt and turned back to her conversation partner.]

What was I saying?

[C: obligatory smut option]
[It would be a lie to say that Yonaka didn't have some hang-ups about sex after... everything... but she was determined to get past them, because she liked someone and she was not going to let a bunch of Mogekos keep her from doing things with them.

So though she was fumbling a little with the buttons of her own shirt, there was a look of determination in her eyes not normally seen on somebody undressing, even somebody undressing in front of her significant other.]

I swear I can get this off myself, hold on...

[To hear that Yonaka was in the same boat made her feel a little better.]

Always just seemed like a bunch of scattered stars to me. [And Froze had tried, she really had. It would be good to be able to pick out such things for navigational purposes but in the end they looked the same as ever.

She grabbed one of the wrapped pieces of candy gathered in a pile between them, examining it closely. A caramel. Sure, why not. She unwrapped it carefully and popped it into her mouth.]

That's what they are, technically. All the connections are just somebody's head.

[Yonaka picks something sweeter and sucks on it for a bit.]

I suppose...but there has to be something more than that, if so many people can see it.

[Even if they can't]

In my world sailors needed something to navigate by. Does your world have a lot of oceans?

[neversmile]

[She nodded.]

We do, but I haven't ever gone that far from our village.

[The exception being when she and the others wound up in the Flame World.]

I've never been sailing, but back in the days when people were naming constellations, you needed them to keep track of where you were, since one stretch of ocean looks pretty much like every other stretch of ocean. For us, it doesn't matter as much.

That's...interesting. We don't do much sailing. Most of it is recreational, since Etihw has these stones that can be set up to teleport people just about anywhere.

[When you had a God so directly involved in everyday affairs, natural growth was a little strange. It's not that Eti interfered with advancements, exactly, but it wasn't quite the same as a species that had to do everything on their very limited merits.]

It sounds like it could be nice. Sailing, I mean.

[chasescenes]

That's got to come in handy.

[Yonaka hums to herself, unwrapping another candy. Instead of eating it, though, she reaches over and plops it into Froze's mouth instead.

Hopefully she doesn't choke or anything.]

They are. I only got to use a long distance one once bu-- [Oh hello candy suddenly in mouth. Fortunately she doesn't choke on it but she does give Yonaka a peeved look before she realizes it was actually pretty good.]

I'm surprised none of this candy has done anything strange. [But she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. GJ finding safe candy, Yonaka.]

As far as we know, anyway.

[...okay, now she's starting to worry.]

I think it might have already had an affect if there was anything wrong with it...

[But she didn't sound completely certain.]

Where did you find it?

[chasescenes]

There was a room set up like a candy shop. I grabbed a ton from there.

[neversmile]

Mm. Well, we know the food in the kitchens isn't always safe. I guess we'll find out about this soon enough.

[As if on cue, Froze suddenly sprouted bunny ears. She wasn't wearing her hat, and so didn't even seem to notice.]

Hopefully if it does do something, it won't be too bad.

[chasescenes]

[Sorry, were you saying something? Yonaka is just staring up at those ears.]

Uh, Froze...

[neversmile]

...oh Eti, what is it?

[Please don't let it be something stupid.]

[chasescenes]

[Yonaka reaches over and pets Froze's ears gently.]

[neversmile]

[She leans back a little puzzled as to what Yonaka is doing a--oh. That was pleasant. For a second she starts to lean into Yonaka's hand before she comes to and jerks back.

Froze reaches up to feel the floofy white ears and once it clicks what they she just. Drops her hands to her side and contemplates her life.]


....could be much worse.

[Though not much more embarrassing.]

At least they look cute on you.

[They'd look cute on most people.]

They look ridiculous.

No, they're cute!

Bunny ears look ridiculous on anyone other than bunnies.

Well, I think they're adorable and you can't prove me wrong because it's subjective.

Too bad you didn't get these then. [The heightened hearing is kind of nice though. The increased sounds of crickets and katydids was a bit calming.]

Yeah, it's too bad. Can I pet them some more?
