[Being a spirit meant that April wasn't really affected by the whole end of the world thing, even if it was confusing as hell and really, she didn't do all that work years ago. Especially after being stuck in the Tower of Animus and seeing her world be destroyed already, but she doesn't like thinking about the tower anymore.
So now she was just stuck exploring this odd world, the fact that she's an incredibly powerful spirit meaning that demons didn't try to fight with her much. And she eventually ends up peeking into a room where a man is examining some sort of weird... drum thingy.
Huh, he seems familiar... But she shakes it off, instead musing over how she never thought she would find a human still alive.
So at any rate, Hijiri will have one small redhead with glowing eyes hesitantly speak up.]
J-just wanted to be sure... [So she steps in, taking some hesitant steps towards him. And she does look the part of the spirit, with the oddly clean white dress that kinda just trails off into nothing by her feet.]
Nice to meet you too, Hijiri. A-and yeah, I can say the same... [Her sentence trails off when she gets closer and gets a better look at him.
No way... No way... It can't be, but he looks so much like him, though he doesn't remember anything. Her mind drifts back to what she remembers about hearing about Aleph's fate, and her chest feel horribly tight all of a sudden.
Which is why she'll be taking a step away from Hijiri, a hand reaching up to cover her mouth to suppress a sound of horror as she starts to tear up.]
I... [Yeah, she wasn't expecting him to know about Aleph anyway, so she hastily wipes her eyes with a hiccup.]
S-sorry, I thought I... I-I thought I saw s-someone I knew, b-but my eyes are kinda bad after all these years, ahaha...
[It's hard to pull the nervous awkward laugh when you're still crying though, so she grumbles and presses the heels of her hands to her eyes to hopefully stop the waterworks.]
I-it's fine, it's not y-your fault, so d-don't apologize. [Sniff and another hiccup, now moving her eyes away from her face.] B-besides, it's been years and years s-since I last saw them, s-so I shouldn't be getting this u-upset...
[EPIC SPIRIT SKILLS, WATCH WHAT I CAN DO WITH MY HEAD.
Once April has moved her hands away, she anxiously twists them in front of her.]
... Y-yeah, they don't. That friend is... was really i-i-important to me and I-I owe a lot to him. But I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have f-freaked out like t-t-that.
HIJIRI now in the right post

Um, excuse me?

You're not a demon, are you?

- She's quick to push that thought away, it's hard to tell from this distance anyway, and she shakes her head. But she seems oddly jittery now.]
U-um, no, I'm... M-more like a spirit. I-I was in this town when the, um, t-thing happened... D-didn't think anyone had lived...

[He really hopes not because his combat ability is... none to speak of.]

N-no way, I would rather avoid fights by now, I-I already had a few demons fight with me...

[Hijiri, meanwhile, knows nothing about any Aleph nor why she could be freaking out.] Did something happen?

CACKLESApril sniffs again, now looking less like some sort of old spirit and now just like a little young woman with a red face.]
I-I'm still sorry... A-at around 1000 or something years old, I-I thought I w-wouldn't have moments like that a-anymore...
