Okay, so this has been pretty painless as far as kidnapping goes. In the City, you'd be lucky if you were held hostage instead of used for someone's material or just to blow off steam. The people who brought him here are suspiciously generous and he's waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The random urge to hug strangers in the rain... is not enough of a downside to explain their generosity, but it is weird and uncomfortable. So underneath a shop's awning he waits for the rain to pass.

Those familiar with Evangeline will probably recognize his suit - aside from her pencil skirt being swapped for a proper pair of pants, it's the same starry suit, down to the same white tie. Anyone at all may note the mask that covers the lower half of his face, or the visible bags underneath his eyes.]

There's people there who don't believe people are worth anything! Who are okay with letting people die on the job! Or won't let them bury their dead! Or say that trying to change things is just going to get you killed for having dangerous ideas! People who make the streets dangerous, or who led to taking the entire world over to the point that there's not even farms or real food, and even the things that sound nice are secretly really scary!

[Rinku starts to tear up, and the air around her, once cold from the rain, starts to get hot.]
