[Tsuchi however also notes the fact that she is alone.]

So where is your companion? Don't tell me they were so cold as to leave you to wander around alone here.

Oh, no, she's over there.

[The spider gestures with one of her spare arms to another spider lady, who is currently Blatantly Flirting with a dog boy half her height who looks very, very nervous.]

We don't mind sharing, you see.

Ah, of course.

[He nods as if in understanding, good enough at acting as if he does not particularly care about the plight that the dog boy demon nearby may soon be facing. It's only natural for spider demons to behave in this particular manner, after all, especially female ones.]

I'll have to remember to say hello to her as well when I have the opportunity to do so.

Hmm, well, if you're not busy after this~ I've always found the desserts here a bit... lacking, personally.

[She's looking at Suga why is she looking at Suga oh god he knows why she's looking at him. It takes all of Suga's willpower not to step backwards.]

[At that, Tsuchi smiles, but it's not really particularly friendly as he grips Suga's shoulder with one of his hands a little harder than before.]

My apologies, but I'm afraid I can't share this one with you. Perhaps you'll have better luck trying one of the others around here who will be more suitable for your tastes.

That's disappointing to hear. You should hurry and eat him up if you don't want him to be snatched out from under you, you know.

...um, do I get a say in who I'm eaten by...?

[Since they're talking about it in front of him and all?]

Oh trust me, I intend to.

[Wow, that sure is a possessive sort of note to his tone here in response there, as he pretends to casually ignore Suga's question to keep up appearances in front of the spider woman here.]

But, you know me. I like to take my time with these sort of things until they are just ripe to my liking.

Hmm~ I hope that works out for you, Tsuchigomori.

[The spider woman's partner waves her over, and she smiles politely, nods to Tsuchigomori, and heads over. Leaving Suga to give Tsuchigomori this look.]

Seriously?

[Tsuchi waits until she's out of earshot before he looks at Suga, offering an apologetic expression.]

Was that too much?

I think most people don't like it when people talk about eating them right in front of them. Even for appearances.

[He does not know vore exists as a kink, nor does he really want to know.]

[Ah...]

I'm sorry. It was the best thing I could think of to get her to drop the discussion.

[Still, he tries to offer a hair ruffle here with one of his other hands as a further apologetic attempt.]

[He's weak to hair ruffles, and he leans into the touch.]

...If it did happen I'd want it to be you. If anyone else tries they'll regret it.

[That... actually gets a momentary blush from Tsuchi, before he coughs and tries to wave it off.]

Come on. We still have work to do here.

Right, intel gathering. Ready when you are, Tsuchi.

[And so they get back to work keeping an eye out on what Hanako had been wanting them to look for, asking around where possible... at some point however, they may get separated as some demons demand Tsuchi's attention long enough that he can't really look at Suga while talking with them.

Hopefully Suga will be fine on his own for a little while...]

[Suga is, if nothing else, a good listener, and he picks up on the conversation going on around him without participating in much of it. A few demons do try to approach him, but the ones with less than savory intentions are almost immediately warded off by his smell.

That leaves the ones who aren't malicious, at least not at first, and a cat asks him about his mate, which makes him blush.]

Technically we're not mates yet? It's complicated with shorter lifespans, you know how it is.

[The cat nods in sympathy. It really is so difficult to care for humans who die in the blink of an eye.]

[If Tsuchi was able to overhear Suga's conversation, he certainly doesn't show it as he is wrapped up in his own conversation with a few other demons... though, they too end up asking about Suga.]

You've got weird tastes, Tsuchigomori. Why a human with that awful glowstone smell on them?

It's actually not so bad, once you get used to it. And it's only really a problem if his life is in danger, which I do my best to keep from being a reoccurring thing.

Still doesn't make up for the human part of that. And the fact that even with the glowstone, I can smell from here that he hasn't actually been marked as a mate yet. You'd better hop on that train before he ends up dying beforehand. Unless this is just a distraction thing for you.

[There's a pause, before Tsuchi responds with--]

Who says that I'm not planning on it?

... Oh right, your fortune telling bullshit or whatever it is you've got going on with your rumor at that school of yours.

I do wish he'd mark me, but I don't want to pressure him into it...

[Suga doesn't mean to vent to strange demons, but also, he doesn't really like talking to Yako about this and he really can't discuss it with Hanako.

Have you tried seducing him?]

I mean - yes, but also it wouldn't be fair if it was something he did in the spur of the moment and then regretted?

It's not bullshit, it's a fundamental part of my existence, you know.

Yeah yeah, whatever. So anyway, did you hear about...

[Tsuchigomori is relieved that the topic has moved away from his lack of a mate and general reason for living, as he then tunes them out and is now actively listening for where Suga might be... and once he does pick Suga's voice out of the crowd, he frowns a bit, but doesn't make to go over yet.

It's probably rude to eavesdrop on his boyfriend like this, but he can't help but be curious...]

[What do you even see in him, anyway? another demon asks. Finally, an easy question.]

He's wonderful. He's kind, and thoughtful, and makes me happier than anyone else. Even if he's not my mate, he's the only one for me.

[He hasn't noticed Tsuchigomori listening: this is all completely genuine.]
