...is not what this meme is about. This meme is about hanahaki as a disease roughly as serious as the common cold. Any excess of repressed feelings can lead to you coughing up flower petals. Sure, it won't kill you, but who wants to start hacking up daisies in front of their crush? That's so embarrassing.

[The thing about being nearly completely silent is that it makes it all the more noticeable when you start coughing something up. Suga tries to scrumptiously slip the lilac petals in his pocket as he pulls out his memo pad.]

[They are indeed fresh, but it's still embarrassing when instead of tulips or forget-me-nots that he could spin into his advantage here saying that they are in response to Rachel's eyes or some shit, instead they take the form of woodbine honeysuckles or cinquefoils, which totally clash with the color scheme of Rachel's floor, honestly.

It also doesn't help that they are the flowers apparently most recognized as a sign of having paternal feelings for someone (well actually cinquefoils is specifically maternal but I'm a sucker for keeping the 4koma jokes about him being a total mom alive) as opposed to Danny's typical obsessing and claiming he just cares about her eyes, which... is not a conversation he thinks he wants to have today, given that Rachel's dead parents are right there on the couch. Which, is why Rachel might catch him attempting to dispose of these particular flowers instead of placing them somewhere as a decoration like the other flowers he normally brings as gifts for her...]

[He's awfully intent on putting those flowers just so though. Frankly Rachel's never seen him arranging something quite this hard and she seems to always be following him with her eyes at the very least like some sort of watchful ghost. Even when she is chilling between said corpses.

After a moment curiosity compels her though. What is he arranging? Why is he taking so long? Even the girl with the blank eyes can feel curiosity so while he's so meticulously working she does something she rarely ever does.

She approaches him with all the quiet of a spirit. And after a moment of trying to see around his body and getting nowhere with it she opts for reaching out and softly, faintly, giving his coat the gentlest of tugs.]

[Danny actually startles a little when he feels his coat being tugged on, and so for a moment when he turns to look, he's genuinely surprised to see Rachel standing there.]

Rachel?

[Normally, she never approaches him on her own like this, so he can't help but be shocked, even if he does begin to quickly school his expression back to what is probably considered "normal" of him here, pleased to see her and his focus away from the flowers in his hands for now.]

developing an apparent feather allergy or some fucking nonsense is just her luck, but she's not a baby and can deal. oh no, she has to drink herbal tea with honey in it all the time, how terrible, guess she'll just have to suck it up and be hydrated.

what is terrible, though, is being a fucking dumbass who doesn't remember she's developed a stupid feather allergy, and being reminded the next time she tries to pick Kit up in her mouth while goofing around. she does at least manage the bare minimum of not spitting him out or accidentally tossing him in her urgency to not cough all over him, but it's a near thing that ends with her coiled into an embarrassed knot and wheezing hoarsely into her own stomach. ]
