call me out v. 14.0

Call out one of the characters from my muselist with a starter, a prompt, a general 'hey can we do something with these characters' comment, a smoke signal, etc., and I'll get back to you with some kind of RP thread!
Old CR, new CR, assumed CR, canonmates, AU, crossover, whatever, it's all good.

gently requesting a certain suga
[ how long has the new bride been in the castle? about 2 months.
how many times have they exchanged words?
twice.
time has proven c-ta again and again that humans cannot be trusted. he’ll always be hated, betrayed by those that he loves. so he has kept his distance, waiting for this new bride—koutarou suga—to do the same. it could be today. it could be in three or ten years. who knows?
but, sensing his presence nearby, c-ta raises his head, tail twitching. he turns around, his eyes cold as they stare at suga. ]
What do you want?
no subject
Suga... doesn't really know. If C-ta was going to eat him, he could have done that day one. But he's certainly not friendly, either.
Maybe... Suga just is a disappointment as a bride? He's not that beautiful or anything, after all.
In answer, he pulls out a necklace - emerald, the same color as the dragon's striking eyes.]
I heard that dragons like valuables
Is that true
no subject
the dragon’s eyes narrows at the sight of the jewelry. that’s right, this human was proficient in craftsmanship, wasn’t he?
but is he trying to lure him? bribe him?
behind him, his tail twitches with impatience. but he smiles regardless, crossing his arms against his chest in a display of false confidence. ]
Oh? You think you can get me to put my guard down with a trinket? Where did you get that?
no subject
I know I'm probably not very impressive as a bride
But I want to do my best, at least
So this is for you
1/2
for him?
that’s the first time someone has ever— ]
no subject
right. intimidating. ]
There is no need for you to go through all this effort is there? You aren’t here by choice.
no subject
I have a responsibility
To my village and to you
no subject
[ okay, now that one is funny. he laughs coldly, ignoring the pang of pain in his chest as he glares at suga. ]
You are a sacrificial sheep to them. They sent you here because they think that I’ll kill you in their place. And you want to protect that village?
no subject
I have a friend
As long as I can protect her it doesn't matter what the rest of the village thinks of me
[She'd fought long and hard for his sake, even volunteering to go in his place. He couldn't let her.]
no subject
the dragon tries to keep his smile steady. he shouldn’t feel hurt about this. he shouldn’t care about a person that has lived only a few months under the same roof as him.
but that face— ]
I’ll give you a lesson about dragons, Suga.
[ he walks up to suga-as close as they can, until their bodies are almost touching.
he’s not hurt. he’s not hurting, he’s not hurting, he’s not hurting he’s not— ]
We love precious things. But a stone is just a stone, no matter how high it can be sold in the market.
[ he wraps a clawed hand around suga’s neck—as gently as a feather, but with sharp claws running over his skin. ]
What makes anything precious are the feelings that people put into it. If it has no feeling, then it’s just an object that I can discard at my leasure. Do you understand, my dear?
no subject
But his hands are steady when he writes.]
Then
Is the feeling of wanting to be a good bride acceptable?
no subject
[ he tilts his head. the hand on suga’s throat drops back to his side. ]
Do you believe that you’re not good enough?
no subject
That must be why the dragon is ignoring him, right? He's not beautiful, he's inconvenient to hold a conversation with... He's not a good bride at all.]
no subject
[ …
seriously?
he huffs, raising his eyebrow. ]
Yes, it’s true. You don’t have any housemaking skills at all. I guess, to most, that would make you a most terrible partner. But don’t you think that I would have done away with you quicker if any of that were important to me?
no subject
I thought that was why you were ignoring me
no subject
[ just. said like that. ]
no subject
But you haven't
no subject
no subject
If it's not because I'm not good enough
Then I would like to see you more often
If that's okay?
no subject
[ ?????? ]
Why?
no subject
But it's also very lonely
And
I can't really be a good bride if we're never around each other?
no subject
[ what… does he say to this?
the dragon steps back, trying to maintain a dignified aura despite the genuine requests from his bride.
he huffs, looking away. ]
You are doing a good enough job as it is. I don’t care if you can’t cook; that’s hardly a problem. Though I agree that this place may become too lonely for a human.
[ it’s lonely for him too. it’s too empty. it’s too many memories. bad memories.
he glances at the jewelry, and sighs. ]
If you wish, you can stay by my side. I don’t care.
no subject
[Suga smiles. It's soft, a delicate thing, but a genuine smile.
He sets the jewelry down on an end table. C-ta can take it if he wants.]
no subject
I’ll tell you another lesson about dragons.
[ his voice is a bit softer. he eyes suga warily, like a cornered cat. hesitant to show vulnerability. ]
Every dragon has their own definition of “precious”. What I told you there was part of what I think is precious. I value loyalty. Devotion. You understand, right?
