[Gershom's blinds are permanently closed, since it wouldn't do for Google Earth to get a glimpse of a skeleton in his apartment. It is, however, a wonderful day, because there is a cat in his bed.

Normally, cats run away from Gershom, not break into locked apartments to cuddle with him. Gershom should really be more concerned, but on the other hand: cat.]

...Can I pet you?

[Hesitantly, he reaches out to try to pet the adorable thing gently.]

[ there is so much FLUFF and it isn't even doing the thing where the belly turns out to be a trap; it's just squinting big blue-green eyes at him and starting up a quiet purr. ]

If my fur was getting caught in them, that might be a dealbreaker. However, it isn't, so I see no problems.
