Open voicetest!
[You are in a strange world, having suddenly been taken from your own... but you've been here for like a month or two, so you've had time to get adjusted, whether you're in horrorland or idyllic 50's town. Even better, you have a sweet ride of some sort!
It is on a fairly regular journey that you realize that your sweet ride is going slower than it should. The first chance you get to stop, a shabby-looking girl who was apparently clinging to the bottom of your vehicle crawls out from underneath.]
Hello! [At least she's friendly?] I don't think we've met? We've spent a little while together, just now, but you didn't know, so that doesn't count I think.

Admittedly being a creature of the sea lost in the Carin of Ha'ub was...less than ideal. The sparse water was infinitely more dire for her than the average creature, but she was managing. Fortune had been on her side for once and she managed to find a wagon that she had been able to fix up....well. Decently enough and some imps had strangely come to her aid.
She appreciated their company, and that they knew where they were going.]
Ah...
[She's nonplussed at the young girl that appears before her. Human perhaps? Ordinarily Lobco would be incredibly wary but she appears to be young, even by human standards.]
No, I don't think it does...are you okay? How did you get there? [It couldn't have been comfortable.]
no subject
[She's either really observant or extremely moon-touched. Or both.]
no subject
A part of her is still a little...unsure if that's the truth, but then while the imps are strong and can move for quite a long time without tiring, they aren't particularly fast.]
Yes, we're trying to find some. Why don't you come inside and out of the heat?
[Lobco was saying that just as much (if not more) for herself. The surface near her home was pretty tropical but it came nowhere near to being as hot as the sun here.]
no subject
Really, I can? Thank you very much!
[Mae does a little dance in place for a second before scurrying into the wagon.]
Oh, it's nice in here!
no subject
Lobco casts one quick look around and under the wagon before entering after the girl. The wagon is sparsely decorated but surprisingly clean for something that has been traveling through the desert for so long. The only reason it has all the cozy blankets, cooking wares and other assorted trinkets it does is because she had been fortunate enough to come here from somewhere other than the CommonWealth.]
Thank you. Please make yourself comfortable. [She moved to the hull where she gave some of the imps scritches, whispering under her breath. Soon the wagon was moving again.]
I'm Lobco. Are you far from your home? [Once she refilled on water she would definitely prioritize getting this girl home.]
no subject
I'm Mae! They called me Mae the Moon-Touched, except, I didn't like that really? I like Lobco. It's a good name.
Home... Um, my home is everywhere the Scribes watch over. So, so I'm home right now!
no subject
Just Mae then--a very pretty name.
[The next bit was a little disconcerting. She wondered about the girl's parents...but that. That might bring up an upsetting conversation.
Lobco takes a seat across from Mae, pensive.]
Mae, do you know your way around this place very well, then?
no subject
I do! I have been all around the Downside. Or, actually, only on top of it mostly? I know all the places a wagon can go.

[A second opinion has been given.]
It'll take... um, I think it might take another day? But we can learn more about each other on the way there!
[frand!!]
no subject
That we can. You must be very strong to survive here by yourself. I've been having quite a bit of trouble...I owe the imps a lot.
no subject
[Mae says it with the sort of certainty rarely found in people who haven't met their gods or seen proof of their existence.]
The imps like you. Have they told you? Some people say they're hard to understand, but I don't know why?
no subject
The imps are sweet. She likes them a lot too, but to have someone say they return that affection is surprising.]
...I like them too.
[Lobco can get a sense for what the imps mean, but nothing specific. She's an animal like them but they seemed different from her, and those back home.]
I have a tiny bit of trouble, sometimes, but I think I'm getting there. In understanding them, I mean.
[She reached behind her toward a jug of water, and offered it to Mae.] Are you thirsty?
no subject
[Mae takes a drink from the jug, and then sighs happily. In this heat, a drink of water is-]
Water blessed by the Scribes themselves. Ha'ub the Swallow, he smiles on your hospitality.
