Twice, but never for very long. Just business trips both times. I never got to actually see the sights.

[he waits until the train starts up to shift closer, finding Oda's warmth a comfort.]

Good thing I'm travelling with an expert.

[Oda's more than happy to lean against Ango's side.]

You bet. Ain't nobody who can tour you around Osaka as well as I can!

But some things never change.

[the rumble of the train is soothing, and he feels his eyelids getting heavy.]

Say, Oda...would it bother you if I took a rest before we got there? I didn't sleep well last night.

Naw, don't worry 'bout a thing. You just rest up, all the way to Osaka if you want.

[Ango needs more sleep, almost as much as he needs more vacations.]

[he smiles, but takes care to remove his coat and make it into a makeshift pillow before he settles back against Odasaku. with the movement from the train and his own exhaustion, he drifts off pretty fast, soundly asleep after a while that wouldn't wake up even if jostled.

it's a sign of trust, that he sleeps next to him in broad daylight. faith that nothing bad will happen, that he isn't so keyed up to wake at a touch. his glasses slip down his nose, and there is peace.]

[It's a level of trust Oda knows he can never fully appreciate. He's a writer, not a government agent - he's never had to fear literally being stabbed in the back. But he knows it means something that Ango would just fall asleep next to him.

Ango's glasses are falling down, and Oda takes them off his face and sets them aside so they won't fall on the floor and get stepped on. That done, he can't resist the urge to run his fingers lightly through Ango's hair.

At some point Oda decides that Ango's coat can't be that comfortable and Ango's head mysteriously ends up on Oda's lap instead? Oda will deny all knowledge of how that happened if Ango wakes up.]

[for the record, Ango's hair is soft. he does make sure to brush it regularly.

he wakes after a few hours, when they're going to be pulling into Osaka in the next half hour. at first he thinks his eyes are blurred from sleep, but then he realizes that he's not wearing his glasses. also, he's lying down? that's unexpected, and the combination makes him immediately tense up. he'd be more alarmed, if he didn't breathe in and know the scent that seems to cling to Odasaku - it's him, then. okay, he can relax again.]

Can I have my glasses back?

[since he's assuming they're somewhere.]

[Ango is adorable. All the time, really, but especially now.

Oda feels that moment of tension and is quick to try to dispel it, plucking the glasses off the table to put in Ango's hand.]

They were fallin' off.

[As an explanation for why Ango woke up without them.]

Oh. Thanks.

[putting them back on, he blinks up at Oda, debating the pros and cons of sitting up. they're alone, so he can afford to be a little softer, a little more indulgent. a little less immediately snapping up.]

How much longer to Osaka?

'Bout half an hour.

[If Ango isn't sitting up, that's permission for Oda to go back to playing with his hair. It really is soft - Oda's sure he could run his fingers through it all day and not get tired of it.

Probably Ango would stop him out of embarrassment first.]

Oh. That's not too long at all.

[Oda's hand in his hair is soothing, actually - he couldn't stand all day, but he can stand this right now, this gentle affection. no one is around them, so he can handle this - as well as the distance from the office. it makes him want to be indulgent.]

[Your coworkers already know you're soft for your boyfriend, Ango, it's too late.]

Weelll... Can't wait to get back home, but I could stand to keep playin' with yer hair for an hour or two.

[who, really, when they're travelling alone and the conductor is unlikely to come by? he's going to get embarrassed at how soft they're being.]
