[The space station makes you try things you never thought you would try, or admit to desires you never would acknowledge to yourself.

This isn't always sexual or even kinky.

Right now, Chuuya has a brush in his hand, which he's carefully running through Hercules' hair. Getting him to let him comb his brush for him was not a terribly difficult proposal - he didn't even have to say please.]

How does this not get tangled when you're fighting?

[lagunbiru is odd beyond belief, but the longer he's hanging out on the space station, the more he's enjoying it. there's just so much to do all the time, so much to learn. and he's learned that he likes spending time with chuuya, and he likes being doted on. so having chuuya brush his hair is actually perfect.

his happiness is very evident, as he hums and sighs, eyes closed and smiling all the while. this is the dream, what visiting olympus must feel like. chuuya's question get his attention, and pulls him from his blissful haze, one eye opening slightly to look at the other man.]

It does, sometimes. The big fights mean I usually lose the headband, and then it's a little harder to manage. But what about you? How do you keep your hair so... [hmm. what's the word...] Shiny? [looking for "silky" or "straight", but sure. shiny.]

[One of them is a poet, and it isn't Heracles. Chuuya will forgive him fumbling with words.]

Wash every day, shampoo once a week. There's a lot less of it to maintain than yours. [The bob is efficient, even if it doesn't help with him looking young.] Helps that I'm a ranged fighter and not in the thick of it, too.

[maybe he could be a poet, if only for chuuya. but that's a consideration for later.]

Ha, yeah... [wait. hold on.] Ranged fighter? I didn't know that. I'm sure you're good, and could take me out with one hit. [he smiles warmly, and laughs.] Maybe we could test that-- y'think we could spar sometime?

No way. [The answer is immediate.] Appreciate the flattery, but I've never shot not aiming to kill. Most of the time what I fight isn't human-shaped anyway, I don't want to hit you somewhere vital just because I didn't know it was vital.

[Not to mention he's pretty sure Heracles would wreck him if he got even a single hit in. Sturdy, he ain't.]

[the snap response catches hercules off guard, but he laughs loudly, pleasantly surprised.] Well, I'm not quite Achilles, so an arrow of yours to anywhere on me could do some serious damage. But I'm a pretty good archer myself, y'know.

[please, chuuya. let him share the one thing he thinks he good at with you. oh well, another time.]

But... I think I like this better than fighting you. A lot better, actually.

[to be treated with such gentleness and kindness is a rarity for him-- he's either a threat or a commodity for most. whatever this is... it's welcome.]

[Explaining what a gun is and why it can hurt more than an arrow sounds like too much effort right now, especially if it would disrupt this peaceful moment.]

I like this better too. I fight all the time, but I don't have many people whose hair I brush.

[In other words, Heracles is special.]

Aw, it's because everyone is doting on you, huh? [he laughs, slightly embarrassed, ears turning slightly red.] I would, uh, want to too...

[there's the wringing of his hands as he averts his gaze, but hercules really can't keep his eyes off chuuya.]

I don't know if I can brush your hair-- [he's nervous that he'll break the brush or hurt chuuya] --but I can do other things... whatever you want.

Nobody dotes on me. [Just the assumption is strange.] You'd want to do that? Really?

[Never mind whether he can or not. Just the idea that Hercules wants to take care of him has Chuuya's eyebrows almost meeting his hat.]

Well, I...

[hercules can't help but be embarrassed, even though he's pretty sure that chuuya doesn't mind his affection, and perhaps even wants it. still, it's a hard feeling to shake... the worry that he's only being humoured, that people only want him around for his skills and nothing more. or, worse: that people only like him because he's famous now. but chuuya doesn't know he's famous. he probably doesn't care that hercules can slay monsters and take on gods in combat. why should he?

so maybe, that makes the sentiment genuine.

turning around to face chuuya, the demi-god smiles with flushed cheeks, rubbing at the back of his neck as he chuckles.] I mean, yeah. I like you, and. And my friends deserve to be happy too. [another nervous laugh] Is... Is that too much?

It's not too much. I'm just not used to it.

[When was the last time someone outright declared that they like him and want him to be happy? Someone over the age of ten.

Heracles is famous and a monster-slayer and all, but none of that really matters to Chuuya. That he's sincere and kind is what has Chuuya blushing and turning his head to the side. Sincerity is hard.]

...I like you too, so... So.

[it's not a declaration of love, just a declaration of like, but that's enough for him. his smile is so much brighter for, and he laughs warmly. sincerity is hard, but it's all that much easier when it's directed at someone you care for, and someone who deserves it.

scooting closer to the smaller man, hercules gently places a hand atop chuuya's thigh, eyes alight.] So. [there's a joking lilt to his voice, and he can't stop beaming.] So we like each other, huh? Just two friends, liking each other, right here. [what is the level that they're at? he's not sure. but he knows that he likes spending time with chuuya, that he wants to see his smile more, that he thinks about kissing him rather often. like now? prime kissing chuuya time. and friends can kiss each other all they want... right?]

[Chuuya has never given a shit about whether he's supposed to do something like kiss friends. He gives even less of a shit now with Heracles' hand on his thigh. Chuuya scoots a little closer himself.]

Are you flirting with me? It's adorable. [Maybe that's not the word anyone wants to hear about their flirting, but Chuuya has also never kept himself from saying anything that was true.] Continue.
