Call out one of the characters from my muselist with a starter, a prompt, a general 'hey can we do something with these characters' comment, a smoke signal, etc., and I'll get back to you with some kind of RP thread!
[ he blinks at the question, as if surprised he isn't being met with some form of suspicion. deep down, he sort of is. this sort of thing has happened several times before, and akutagawa can't remember a single time where he wasn't at least given a suspicious side-glance. most other teachers either knew why or had their guesses as to why literature club students were always going through their uniforms.
tsushima-sensei being more concerned than annoyed is...refreshing. akutagawa clears his throat behind his fist. ]
No. Just an irreparable tear. I'm having a new set prepared as we speak.
[ akutagawa takes a few steps towards the window, his fingers curling around the string holding the blinds up, though he doesn't lower them just yet. ]
Do you believe me? Since it's you, I'll sit through yet another lecture, but before you start, just know that it isn't anything I haven't heard before.
[ he looks over his shoulder at his teacher, watching him for a moment for any trace of dishonesty, but he finds none. he isn't particularly surprised, but that innocent belief in him makes akutagawa's expression soften, though he does huff at the naivete. it's kind of funny to him.
he finally lowers the blinds. ]
You would be the first to believe a student of the literature club for something like this. Me, especially.
[ after he approaches, he lifts a hand and curls it around the back of tsushima-sensei's neck. ]
But that's why I like you so much, Tsushima-sensei.
[Shuji's first instinct is to jerk away, and he does start to pull back before he stops himself. Remember that Akutagawa has no other teachers he bonds with so closely, remember it's for his future. Lie back and think of your students... except that's the problem in the first place.]
...Whatever the rumors about you may be - even if they were true, you're my student. I'm supposed to support you, not assume the worst about you.
[In this case, and only this case, it really doesn't matter what the literature club has been up to. Shuji is meant to advocate for Akutagawa, not drag him down.]
But... thank you, Akutagawa.
[His cheeks are tinged red, and his gaze is fixed on a spot on the wall rather than Akutagawa himself.]
[ those kind words are almost laughable in how wrong tsushima-sensei is about akutagawa and the lit club, but he says nothing because such pure-hearted words and sincere faith in him is...touching, he supposes. akutagawa can't quite believe it. ]
Such kind words, when you can't even look at me, Sensei.
[ stepping forward, he pulls tsushima-sensei towards him as well, their noses brushing, their lips barely a soft breath away. ]
Are you ashamed of trusting me? Does facing the rest of the faculty while they know you support me embarrass you?
[So close, Shuji can't avoid looking at Akutagawa any longer. The red in his cheeks is only getting worse, and yet-]
I'm not ashamed of supporting you at all.
[He's being honest. Anyone with even the slightest skill at reading people would know. Wanting to support his students is something that Shuji is not and will never be ashamed of.
That's not what embarrasses Shuji.
He grips the bottom hem of his shirt, trying to suppress the urge to fidget.]

[There's no trace of doubt in Shuji's answer, no reservation. Akutagawa says he tore his shirt, so he tore it - that's the end of the story.]
I used to tear my clothes all the time. Really, I'm lucky the teachers don't have to wear uniforms too.
[He has never been the most coordinated of people, and age hasn't made him all that much more graceful.
He sees Akutagawa with his hand on the blinds, but he doesn't comment or even look particularly distressed.]
