[She's stopped wondering how Akutagawa finds these things out so quickly.]

It wasn't intentional on my part. One of the detectives saw me earlier and wanted to deliver a love confession.

[Protective big bro mode is active.]

Love confession?

From who?

Someone named 'Katai'. We hadn't met before.

[mafiadog]

[Akutagawa actually isn’t familiar with that name.]

And what did you say?

[ogin]

No.

[mafiadog]

I see.

It’s better if you focus on your duties anyway.

Why was Higuchi there?

[ogin]

[Katai looked like a shut-in nerd anyway.

From what Higuchi shouted while chasing her...]

She saw us together, didn't recognize me, and was suspicious.

[mafiadog]

I see.

She thought we were a couple.

[ogin]

Yes.

She was very relieved afterwards.

I’ve let these feelings of hers go on for far too long.

Surely she knows I don’t return them.

Foolish.

She knows.

[Gin may not speak to Higuchi much - speak much at all - but she's seen Higuchi's behavior enough to be sure.]

Do you think I’m cruel to her, Gin?

[ogin]

Yes. But we're in the mafia. Cruel is our normal.

There’s no room for relationships in our line of work.

Even if there were, Higuchi is not my ideal lover.

Did the weretiger prove to be a problem?

No. Higuchi was more violent.

One more incident like this and I’ll have her removed from Black Lizard.

That wouldn't be necessary if you talked to her about this.

Then I’ll need to have this discussion with her sooner rather than later.

I wonder if her loyalty will last even after that.
