[Today the class was in the school library to do research on a project they were supposed to be doing. Alice already found the book she needed so she was finding a quiet place to read a different book. It wasn't her fault that she needed to return The Hobbit back to the public library after school! It was her duty to finish it.

Though, in the quiet reading nook there was someone else. Alice would have found a different spot if it weren't for one thing. It was Shinji and he was playing that stupid handheld game again. (Okay, that was two things.) She wasn't jealous of him or anything (okay maybe a little) but it annoyed her.

So, she sneaked up on him and tapped him on the head with The Hobbit.]

Hey, this is a library, Shinji.

[Shinji was just minding his own business, trying to beat this one level for the 50th time, when someone whacked him on the head with a book.

...Okay, it wasn't really a whack, but it still made him yelp a little before he turned around to glare at her.]

Yeah, so? Was I bothering anybody?

[He didn't even have the sound on.]

[Well, maybe he shouldn't have sneaked it into school to practice! She didn't even own a handheld game and she knew that.

She frowns at him.]

Yeah, 'cause this is my reading spot.

[Not that he looked that hard, but he's pretty sure there wasn't any 'Alice' written on this chair when he sat down here.]

[There's stirring on the other side of the library but surely nothing to do with these idiots.]

You're being too loud. [The dreaded librarian looms down at them.] This is your first warning.

Sorry, Mrs. Blackmore. Won't happen again.

[Even Shinji is cowed by the power of his teachers.]

[She's about to say something when she sees the librarian. Like an obedient girl, she lowers her head.]

Sorry, ma'am. Alice will keep her voice down.

[Teachers like the cute act, right?]

[Mrs. Blackmore seems to, at least, since her expression softens a little.]

Very good.

[It's only after the librarian has returned to her desk that Shinji dares speak to Alice again, much more quietly.]

...It's still not just your chair. It's everybody's chair.

[It wasn't something Alice liked to pull out but at least Mrs. Blackmoore is gone. She wasn't so bad but Alice didn't want her to tell her husband about them. ....Mr. Blackmoore was scary.]

Still, you shouldn't play video games in a library. We have a project to do.
