[Yosuke had promised Kanji that everything would be fine in college. There'd be no problems and that he'd come home a better man, ready to have a full on adult relationship with Kanji.

And when Kanji came to the college campus, he saw way too many girls walking around, wearing short clothing. And his immediate jealous flags went up. Girls were looking at him and flirting and he got the fuck out of there real fast.

Finding the cafe on campus, he quickly ran to it and entered, taking a deep breath before grabbing a coffee, and a table near the back. He was here about five minutes early, and he knew Yosuke would be here on time.

He hoped. But dammit, he couldn't shake it from his mind that Yosuke wasn't being as honest as he promised.]

[Yosuke shows up a few minutes later with a few other people- male and female, all laughing at something he said. Outside of highschool he had done much better socially. Both due to being away from Junes and being more mature then he once had been.

He sees Kanji and waves, his friends seeing him off before he jogs over]

Hey! You're early!

[electrostruck]

Uh... hey! Yeah, my train got in a lil' early, so I went walkin' around campus trying to find this place.

[He looks at all those friends for a moment, and shakes it off. No, no way. Yosuke promised. He'd keep it, right?]

Was worried you had forgotten! Y'always seem like you're runnin' off to something fun.

If you call cramming all night fun yeah.

[He flops in the seat across from him, at once poking his leg with his foot]

[He's so badly trying not to come across as jealous. He's not the jealous type, dammit, but he's failing miserably.]

Well yeah, studying is always better with a group. Remember all those study groups we did in the food court? Man, they didn't really help much but they were fun.

And yeah, you noticed? Really don't have the time to keep up with it anymore.

Well, it's pretty obvious! And yeah, of course I remember!

[It got better when him and Yosuke were starting to date, though. He can't deny that.

...Now he can't keep pretending to hide his jealousy forever, so he just...]

...Yosuke. Can I... ask you somethin'? And you promise not to get upset or freak out on me?

Huh? Yeah, sure....

[His gut drops, and his brain feeds in the rest of what he thinks Kanji is gonna say- 'I can't do this, I want to break it off.']

...You're... bein' entirely faithful, right? I know you like cute girls, and I saw a lotta 'em around campus... I don't want a sad drunk call at 3 am saying you had sex with a girl.

[He doesn't want to accuse Yosuke of cheating. He just wants to make sure he's not.]

[He's a little loud, and people start looking over, forcing him to say the rest in a hissed whisper between his teeth]

No-! I mean yeah there are a LOT of cute girls here but no!

[Well, that was proof enough that Yosuke wasn't cheating.

Yosuke is a shitty ass liar, enough for Kanji to see through.]

[He looks down at his coffee, feeling extra stupid now.]

[In Yosuke's defense he sounds more concerned then accusatory- and under that a little hurt. Was he really that untrustworthy?]

...I just... I knew I wasn't really your first choice in relationships. I'm not a cute girl or nothin'. I'm a scary man who frightens people away still.

[Some people trying to politely stare at the two of them.]

...Guess my fear was you'd find someone you liked better.

[He trusted Yosuke. But he also didn't trust Yosuke wanting to be committed to him.]

[It's not meant to be mean- if their places had been reversed, where they mostly talk on the phone and only see each other face to face in the space of month instead of hours... he'd be just as scared]

I've done... some dumb stuff since I got here. But not that, I promise you.

[He had a few chances- a few girls (and one guy) that made it pretty clear they were interested in fooling around. But he couldn't do that to Kanji. He was doing this FOR them, after all]

[He doesn't want to focus on the fact he thought Yosuke might be cheating. He wants to instead focus on the fact he's here for a weekend. So he wants to change the topic.

A little drinking. Sleeping weird places. Sitting through an entire lecture for a class I wasn't even in. You know, that kinda thing.

[He chuckles a bit, now in a bit of a better mood.]
