Page of Pentacles. A person or an energy - be practical, be trusting and trustworthy, have an effect on the world around you.

Six of Wands. Triumph, acclaim, pride.

Knight of Wands. A person out of balance - charming but superficial, adventurous but restless, prideful to a fault.

Since you were an apprentice, many things have happened - you've done many things, no? As you change the world around you, you change yourself. You should take pride in the person you've become, rather than wistfully reminisce on the person you used to be - even the Knight can be a positive card if his energy is missing from your situation.

Not at all. Look them up anywhere.

That would be hard to do, considering I've never heard of them before this.

[Or in this form, at least. Time to test something...]

Not in the slightest! Though I'm sure they would be quite interesting if you were to tell me about them.

[...She's still not entirely convinced she didn't just make this up, they're that unbelievably spot on.]

...All three of those cards are so relevant, especially together, it's a little creepy.

[harpbeat]

Surely you wouldn't call a face like this creepy.

[Don't be so mean.]

I didn't call you creepy! It's the cards! They're-...

[She's not trying to be mean! It's just so...unexpected.]

...Are they enchanted somehow?

[harpbeat]

Not at all. They are simply ordinary pieces of card stock.

[boundinblood]

[For a moment, she doesn't say anything, looking between the cards and Eater.]

So this was entirely coincidence?

[harpbeat]

If you want to think of it that way. Anyone can shuffle a deck of cards and draw ones that means something.

[boundinblood]

Oh-...oh I see what you mean now, no wonder you aren't-...

I'm sorry, the coincidence of those cards together, I-...

[She stops, recognizing she hasn't come out of that stalling state of mind, and waits until she can collect herself.]

I wasn't thinking clearly, I was so taken aback.

[harpbeat]

It is quite alright. Take your time.

[She recognizes that her readings can come as something of a shock for people not expecting something accurate to their situation.]

[And once that's past - her mind has this extremely annoying habit of locking up when it's needed most sometimes - she corrals her thoughts into what had actually surprised her.]

My only question is...yes, if told the meanings of the cards, I might come to that conclusion. But how did you? Changing the world isn't something many people do on their own.

[harpbeat]

Everyone changes the world, dear. Some just do so in larger ways than others.

[Or her intuition is uncannily good.]

[She has "protag" written all over her, it just takes a bit of trope-savvy to figure it out.]

...That's why I'm concerned about it being a change for the better. If my name and my deeds are going to carry weight, I want to be able to live up to that.
