[A deck is on the table in front of her.]

I want to know what you'll see in the future! Will there be a boy involved? I want to know!

[After Mabel shuffles, Eater deals out three cards and flips them over.]

Strength. Compassion, inner strength, and patience.

Nine of Cups. Wish fulfillment, satisfaction, and luxury. Getting what you think you want.

Seven of Pentacles. Reassessment, reward, or considering a change in direction.

Hm, as it pertains to boys... The Nine of Cups suggests you'll get what you want, but paired with the Seven of Pentacles, it also suggests you may need to reconsider what you want in the first place. You're young still - it's only natural to not know exactly what you're looking for when it comes to boyfriends. Be patient - even if the first boy fails to work out like you had hoped, there are others after him.

So in other words, you pretty much telling me to just wait and find the right boy? But how will I know? Because the wait's gonna kill me and that's not fair! I want to know right now!

Can't the cards tell me exactly what I need to do in order to find the right boy? I'm just tired of waiting and just screwing up all the time!

Not at all. You won't know - that is the point of trying and failing a few times. Discovering what you don't want through your first few relationships is normal.

Besides, to tell you exactly what to do, I would need far more cards.

[meowbel]

[Pause]

Then where do I get more cards? Because if the cards right now won't tell me, then we'll just go and get some more!

[harpbeat]

[She covers her mouth with her hand to hide her laugh.]

Oh, child, I admire your ingenuity, but it simply does not work that way. I meant that the kind of specificity you are after would require a hundred cards in the deck, at least.

[meowbel]

Then we'll just get hundreds of them! It shouldn't be too hard, we'll just go up to the store and ask for them!

[Stubborn is what stubborn does]

My love life is at stake here!

[harpbeat]

[More giggling.]

I am sure you needn't resort to that. Please refrain from emptying your pockets buying tarot cards.

[meowbel]

Yeah but I want to know right now though.

How will I know what my life is if they don't tell me what to do? Like, what if I end up like one of those old ladies with a bunch of cats in my house?!

[Pause] But now that I think about it, it's not a bad future. Who doesn't want a house filled with cats?

[harpbeat]

I am quite fond of cats myself. I am certain that even without the aid of fortune telling, you will be able to make a positive result for yourself.

[meowbel]

Well do they say anything good about me? Love life or not?

What does it say anyway? [Please let it be good, please let it be good!]

[harpbeat]

Hmmm, I think I could draw one more card for you if you like... But really, do you need fortune telling to tell you nice things about yourself?

[meowbel]

[There was a long pause on Mabel's end]

......Maybe? I mean, isn't it always nice to have random people telling nice things about you anyway?

[harpbeat]

Certainly, but it means more from people than from cards, I do believe.

[meowbel]

So what?

You're saying that I shouldn't listen to the cards to tell me what to do? But there's magic involved and whole bunch of weird whatamajings! How can I not listen to it?

[harpbeat]

Weird whatamajings are no substitute for good sense.

[Which she has very little of.]

[meowbel]

Then what do you think I should do? Weird whatamajing or what, I still got to figure out what to do with my love life here!

[This is Mabel we're talking about here]

Perhaps I might suggest 'worry about it when you're older'?

[meowbel]

You really think so?

I don't know, it seems like everyone around me is falling in love! And pretty soon, I might be the only one left without anyone!

Now that's just scary!

[harpbeat]

I really, truly think so. You are young yet - those people around you will break up within a few months. Count upon it.

[meowbel]

Is that the cards telling you or are you telling me that? Because I don't even know anymore!

Now my brain's getting all swooshy and messed up from everything!

[harpbeat]

That is just from my experience. Were it the cards, I would certainly show you them - never trust a tarot reader who will not show you what they've drawn.

[meowbel]

Well, I know that! That's a total no brainer because otherwise, that would be cheating! And no one likes cheaters!

Especially when they're cheating on people cheating about their own lives or something!
