The year is 2222, and you live in a bustling city in Japan by the sea. There are many different neighborhoods, from strictly urban areas, to more traditional Japanese neighborhoods, to areas full of cafes for tired businessmen, to the rougher part of town, to the beachside properties. In general, the city seems peaceful, but lively.

The latest rage is BitPhones - a must-have for anyone. Not only do they have as many apps as you could possibly want from a smartphone, and come in all kinds of customizable shapes and sizes, but they contain things like your ID and other essential data. All BitPhones are connected by the Master Program, an essentially indecipherable program maintained by some guy living in his apartment with his shut-in cousin.

But that's probably not very important.

Alright! Sugar, Mirin, and Sake!

[Nanashi resolves to do a bit better, pumping himself up. Hoping maybe even to impress Mikado by doing the cooking right... Aaaahhh... How nice would that be... Okay, he's starting to space out a bit from making the sauce, but it... still looks fine? Maybe he'd added a little more of the sake than necessary but otherwise alright...?]

That should be fine. Next we're going to cut up the chicken. I can trust you with a kitchen knife, right?

[Don't do anything dangerous. Please.]

Y-Yeah!! I'll do my best!

[Nanashi carefully grabs the knife from where it was usually placed and starts to cut the chicken as Mikado guided. He'd never touched a knife before... But he'll make sure not to mess up! He was doing a... satisfactory job. It wasn't perfectly cut but it wasn't mutilated beyond all recognition.]

[He was feeling pretty good about it as he finished up with the last bit, but noticed when he moved his knife down that he didn't move his hand far away enough from where it was near the chicken it had moved around. He immediately plops the knife to the side as he sees some blood begin to pour from the side of his hand.]

Ah!! Ow...

[I have no icon sufficiently concerned for this but rest assured that Mikado is Very Concerned about the fact that Nanashi is bleeding.]

I'll get you a bandaid-

[And he's rushing off to the bathroom. Comes back with a pack of Larikkuma bandages. They were on sale at the time, don't judge.]

[(Poor Mikado not having enough concerned expressions.. Especially since Nanashi has, what, 3 crying official arts?)]

[He stays in place worriedly as Mikado runs into the bathroom. Not so much worried over the injury he'd inflicted on himself, but more about how his cousins face looked as he hurried to get him a bandaid. Nanashi'd never seen him so worried before.. It's all his fault... Why does he have to be so stupid and mess up like this...]

Ah~ Larikkuma! So adorable!!

[Nanashi was trying much harder when Mikado came out to keep a smile on his face as he gives his hand over to be treated, acting as if it wasn't painful or anything. He doesn't want to see that look on Mikado... He just wants to see him smile! He'll apologize later though. He needs to apologize for being so useless that he can't even cut up chicken correctly...]

plus it would be weird to retroactively lose a finger

[Carefully, Mikado applies the bandaid over Nanashi's wound. There. Now at least he can look cute while he's injured.]

It's lucky that it was just a small cut... You could have lost a finger, even.

[Nanashi giggles softly once Mikado finished getting the band-aid on, flashing it a bit as if he was given a pretty ring instead of a band-aid.]

Aaah you're right... It would have been scary if I cut my finger off!!

[He shows an exaggerated look of terror on his face, hoping it to be perceived as funny before his face turns to a more serious look]

Um... I'm really sorry about this Mikado. I guess I... can't stop being useless to you or anyone else, huh...?

[He was still feeling pretty down on himself for his slip up, but pushes it aside.]

Of course I want to keep learning how to cook! You said it yourself that it's an important skill! ...And I want to become at least a fraction of how great you are Big bro! ..For that, I need to suck it up and become a cooking mama! Er... papa? Boy...?

At the offer his cheeks flush a bit as Nanashi looks at him, eyes sparkling]

Really?! I'd love that!! If you kiss it i'm sure it'll heal super fast!

[Mikado chuckles, before lightly kissing the bandaged finger. (Sorry Larikkuma, you'll have gross Mikado cooties forever now.)]

[He was a little bashful at the action with his face so red it could be mistaken for a tomato. It tickled a little bit...! Or maybe it was his heart feeling ticklish? Who knows...]

Ehehe!! The best! You must be a wizard or something! The pains all gone, and now i'm even feeling fuzzy! What sort of magic do you know?!
